Impact Porter Novelli Secures Huawei Honor Business
IPN has won the PR business for Huawei’s e-commerce only brand “Honor” in the region, following a multi-agency pitch
8 July 2015, Dubai: Honor, the world’s leading smartphone e-brand from Huawei, has appointed Impact Porter Novelli (IPN) as its PR agency operating in the GCC region, effective immediately. Multiple PR agencies were invited to partake in a competitive pitch wherein Impact Porter Novelli (IPN) successfully won the battle.
The appointment will see IPN roll out a dynamic and engaging launch programme for the Honor brand to support and amplify its global #ForTheBrave campaign, as well as to create regional awareness and impact for Honor as a pioneering world-renowned brand.
Honor has seen tremendous growth globally in one year alone, achieving over 20 million units of sales and a current net worth of over $2.4 billion. In just under a year, the brand has managed to enter over 74 markets worldwide with an unprecedented revenue growth rate of 2400%. Worldwide, an Honor device is sold every 1.5 seconds.
Mr. Chris Sun, VP of Honor for the Middle East region commented, “IPN made a huge impact on us after launching our Honor 6 Plus device on a project basis in May 2015. The device, which was made available exclusively via Souq.com, sold out within the first week prompting us to order more stock to meet market demand. We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with IPN on a long-terms basis after their successful pitch, and we are confident that they can support the vision to bring our e-commerce-only brand Honor to a generation of the promising internet youth in the GCC.”
Natasha Ighodaro, Director of Technology & Digital Publishing at Impact Porter Novelli added, “We are thrilled to have secured the business of such an innovative and forward-thinking brand. The Honor e-commerce business model is a game changer in this region; finally consumers will be able to purchase top-range smartphones at a mid-range price point. The success of the Honor 6 Plus launch in this region shows us that there is a huge consumer appetite for these products, so we expect Honor to make a huge impact in the GCC this year. Working with Honor will allow us to leverage our extensive tech and e-commerce experiences, as well as implement our strategic and creative ideas on some of its exciting projects and launches over the coming year.”
