HE Butti Saeed Al Ghandi Inaugurates the Middle East Cleaning Technology Week
- ‘Unsung City Cleaning Heroes’ from Dubai Municipality and Bee’ah recognised by MECTW
- The exhibition plays host to over 155 local and international exhibitors, from 17 countries
- Exhibition to address the facilities management, commercial laundry and car wash verticals, amongst others
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 2, 2015: Middle East Cleaning Technology Week commenced on Monday 2nd November, under the patronage of HE Butti Saeed Al Ghandi, Second Vice Chairman, Dubai World Trade Centre.
At the inauguration of MECTW, Jamal Abdulla Lootah, CEO – Imdaad & MEFMA President; Marwan Khamis Al Shami, Director of WCPC, and, Carsten Mahani, CEO – Viking Gulf awarded the ‘Unsung City Cleaning Heroes’ awards to the winning street cleaning staff from Dubai Municipality and Sharjah Tandeef.
The award winners are Mydeen Shajahan Mydeen, Jafor Ahmed Abul Kashem, Ahmed Ismail Iqbal, Salim Khan Alam Khan of Dubai Municipality Street cleaning staff and Mohamed Ali Ameem Abdullah, Abdul Favas Thachangottil from Sharjah Tandeef waste management.
The region’s premier cleaning exhibition MECTW encompassing all aspects of the cleaning and hygiene industry, addressed the AED 80 billion dirham market. The expo will be hosting 155+ regional and international exhibitors, from 17 countries and will display 1000+ brands collectively across different verticals in the cleaning industry.

We have expanded to make way for two new platforms – Gulf Car Wash-Car Care Expo and Gulf Laundrex-Linen Care Expo – along with a special outdoor section dedicated to street cleaning solutions and equipment,” commented Jayaraman Nair, Chairman – VIS “We urge visitors and professionals in the cleaning, hospitality and hygiene, car care and laundry care industry to visit the expo in Dubai International Convention Centre. It will be an enthralling experience; through its trade shows, conferences and awards, MECTW aims to unite thought leaders, policy makers and investors across the world”.
A footfall of over 8000 attendees is expected over the 3 day event, with a large number of attendees already pre-registered for the event. The tradeshow conferences will stage several high profile speakers from all over the world, representing reputed brand names such as Sealed Air Diversey Care, Linencraft, Frost and Sullivan, and the likes.
The need for expansion of the cleaning and hygiene industry could never be stronger. There have been advances in every vertical of the cleaning and hygiene industry, especially with the importance of implementing sustainable cleaning technologies in the region. The growth of this vertical also resonates with the country’s strong desire to attain international standards of cleanliness and sterility. UAE is leading the GCC region, with being the cleanest country in the region.
