HR roundtable session in Qatar hosted by Dulsco as part of its thought leadership series

Dubai, UAE, May 29th, 2016: ‘Employee Engagement’ is one of the most important factors for the overall growth of Qatar’s corporate sector, according to the HR fraternity in the country. The experts also felt that the ‘Employee Engagement’ quotient is a crucial aspect that gauges the long term success and viability of an organization.

Dulsco, a leading provider of Human Resource Solutions and Waste Management Services conceptualized and hosted this informative and interactive session with the leading HR experts as part of its HR thought leadership series. This was the first forum hosted by Dulsco in Qatar as part of Dulsco’s visionary initiative to create a platform for HR professionals to meet, interact and share ideas. Senior HR leaders from various companies representing sectors such as manufacturing, retail, IT, construction, oil & gas participated in the discussion.

“Employees are one of the most valuable assets for any organisation.  They need to be engaged and managed well for the success of any organisation. The session was highly informative and productive and I am sure the wealth of learnings gathered during this session will be implemented in these organisations and thereby help them grow further. Such interactive workshops are necessary to learn from the industry peers and share best practices,” said Mr. Joseph Mathew, Director Dulsco Qatar.

Participants shared various interesting best practices, right from very simple ones like spending time on the shop floor to strategic initiatives at the board level. The session was moderated by Ms. Elizabeth Santana Kumar, Learning Manager at Qatar Shell.

“The participants truly believed that if few of the points that were discussed at the forum are implemented, sustained and monitored for impact, HR function can move from being transactional to transformational. We plan to host these forums on a regular basis so that the participants can look at this as a platform for exchanging views and updating the best practices followed in HR,” added Mr. Joseph.

Experts also felt that transparency during recruitment, setting the right expectations and fulfilling promises, will surely have a positive impact on employee engagement.  In addition, a detailed induction programme is an integral part of engaging an employee. Retaining the employee before he or she decides to quit is another aspect of employee engagement as per the experts.

Dulsco strives in its endeavour to continuously give back to the HR community by hosting HR forums across Qatar and UAE. Recently held events at Dulsco included similar discussion sessions in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. Dulsco was established 81 years ago and today the company has become the ‘knowledge powerhouse’ that addresses the challenges of the HR sector.

Dulsco was acknowledged as one of the ‘Top 20 Companies to Work For’ recently by the Great Places To Work For Institute, a global research and management consultancy. Dulsco was also the only waste management company and among very few HR solution providers in the region to be awarded the Superbrand status last year.
