Dubai, UAE, October 30, 2016:  Paule  Ka’s SS17 collection preview was an affair to remember -with Creative Director Alithia Spuri Zampetti flying in especially to launch the new SS17 collection in the region. The city’s key editors, influencers and TV networks were present to celebrate the House’s latest offerings.

Guests were invited to Gold on 27, at the Burj Al Arab to discover pieces from Maison PAULE KA’s strictly chic and vibrantly graphic SS17 collection. Media mingled, feasted on delectable canapes and were able to walk amongst the jungle like collection to touch and feel the femininity of the fabrics and appreciate the detail of the clothes.  Media even gathered for a mini photoshoot  at the flipbook station, wearing head to toe PAULE KA accessories as props.
A trip to Japan inspired Alithia for this collection.  A summery dream composed of fifty looks, set within the lush greenhouses of the Jardin des Plantes, where austere Japanese culture meets all desires of fluidity. A symphony of tropical colored dresses, where the work of the Maison’s atelier adorns the PAULE KA woman: a ‘modern couture’ spirit, that reveals a constant desire for sophistication. 

A walk through the heart of a Japanese fantasy comes to life in a crescendo of colour. A dream of textures and fabrics, where the strictest of lines juxtapose the most romantic shapes. This journey starts with a tribute: when Serge Cajfinger created Paule Ka almost 30 years ago, his very first outfits were inspired by masculine tailoring, including a blazer from which he removed the shoulder pads, as a reaction to the overly broad fashion of the 1980s. This inspiration provided the starting point for a new exercise in style. In Alithia’s hands, suiting is transformed as the white gabardine of a classic jacket is reinterpreted into long draped dresses and soft, tailored separates, structured with obi inspired belts.  The entire collection feature a play on stripes, magical couture flowers, and an incredible line of accessories.

Multi-coloured sandals with feathered tassels and petals, water snake pumps, shoes adorned with jacquard or fringes, sculpted heels with meat petals and velvet accents... Feathers float off earrings and belts, or are embedded in the heel of a shoe, while clutches are embroidered with petals. From stripes to jacquards, the accessories extend this summer dream.

Rainforest sounds set the tone for the event, in keeping with the theme of SS17 collection and the elegance of the brand. In the end, ensuring no guest left empty handed, signature brooches and bracelets from the brand were given, providing a stylish momento for all!
