Dubai, UAE, December 7, 2016: The 21st edition of the Middle East’s most influential jewellery show has opened its doors, unveiling thousands of unique, breath-taking jewellery pieces, offering visitors a one of a kind shopping opportunity.
The show floor displays more than 10,000 glittering designs from across the globe and the four-day jewellery extravaganza will run until 10 December at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
Bringing together 240 international exhibitors, such as Very Important Jewels Paris, Yoko London, Australian South Sea Pearls Fzco, MOISEIKIN International Limited from Hong Kong, Ferrari Firenze SRL from Italy, Wuzhou Zhongshi Gems Co. Ltd from China, the show showcases lavish couture 19.45ct diamond and emerald sets, latest bridal collections made of gold in different colours and lustrous pearls reaching 20.6mm as well as technologically innovative designs featuring synthetic gemstones and replicas of fancy yellow diamonds and rubies.
Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Events Management, DWTC, said: “Dubai International Jewellery Week is of crucial importance to international brands as it offers exclusive networking and trading opportunities with serious collectors, gemstones aficionados, and designers from five continents sharing their passion for this extravagant industry.
“With hundreds of international jewellery brands at this year’s event bringing their rarest and most exquisite collections, every budget is catered for and the astonishing sets from a vast number of collections will delight our visitors.”
Among many striking pieces on display, Taka Jewellery, a jewellery wholesaler from Singapore, will showcase their earrings and rings made of blue and pink sapphires alongside fancy diamond chokers.
Taka Jewellery’ Anita Yip said: “Dubai International Jewellery Week provides us with the perfect ability to reach out to the right customers as this region holds high buying power and has a great appreciation for fine jewellery.
“This year we’re bringing exclusive pieces made of 18 karat gold, diamonds, various gemstones and pearls that are trendy and affordable to attract price-conscious customers.”
Running alongside the event is the Jewellery Design Awards, rewarding aspiring and established designers from across the world for their excellence in jewellery design, innovation and creativity. The Awards ceremony will take place at a glittering gala this evening (Wednesday) at DWTC.
Another highlight of the event is a series of workshops dedicated to the world of jewellery and apparel styling and led throughout the show by three Middle East’s top fashion influencers: Taim Al Falasi, Mariam Yasin, and Rana Saab, who will share their fashion secrets and the latest trends tips.
Visitors seeking a revitalising break from the shopping frenzy, can indulge themselves in a myriad of free revitalising spa and beauty services, including relaxing massages, and exclusive hair-styling services, all provided at the show’s Beauty Lounge.
Admission to the Dubai International Jewellery Week is free to the general public, while anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The show is open from 2:00pm to 10:00pm daily, with the exception of Friday 9 December when doors open at 3:00pm.
