Women’s beach, sport and casual wear was on show at THE BEACH as fashion designers use the location to create a memorable show

Dubai, UAE – 6 January 2017:  The popular Street Runways event made its second appearance at this year’s Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) with last night’s active wear fashion show that was held at THE BEACH.

The unique ‘Active & Cruise’ show was a great opportunity for shoppers at the mall to see all-new looks for women’s beach, sport and casual wear, with gymnastic equipment used as props during the show by local models trained to international standard.

Hosted by influencer Dana Wolley, the show featured a range of curated outfits for fashionistas from GAP Fit, Patrizia Pepe, s*uce ON-SEA, Roberto Cavalli Gym, Adventure HQ and Glassing among others.

A delegation from the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism was in attendance as VIP guests of this special DSF event.

The Street Runway are high-end fashion shows that take place at selected locations in the city. What makes them more than just a show, what makes them an event is the setting. Fashion is on display, but the city’s locations are the stars.

There are two Street Runway events still to come, and both are open to the public and will provide the audience with a different style to suit the brands and clothes that will be on offer.

The Gold Souq (17th January) is a great location to make everyone think about the traditional styles often overlooked with the ‘Twist in Time’ edition; and CITY WALK  2 (25th January) will promote the ‘Urban Trendy’ attire that will be on display.

DSF 2017 is organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism). The festival runs until 28th January under the theme ‘Shop. Win. Celebrate’, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to experience the best in shopping, winnings and entertainment at the longest running festival of its kind in the world.
