F3 falconer Khalifa Bin Mijrin wins five out of eight Tilwah finals

DUBAI, 12th February 2017:  Sixty falcons will vie for the 'Noukba' (Elite) title in the Super Finals which will be held on Monday, February 13, after winning the first three places in the finals of the 20 Tilwah events in the ‘Fakhr Al Ajyal’ Championship for Falconry organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) in Dubai on Friday 10th February at the dedicated site in Ruwayyah off Emirates Road (Exit 55).

The brilliant ‘F3’ team underlined their supremacy by winning six events in the Sheikhs category in addition to being placed among the top three in two more events, with their falcons producing superb timings promising to go even better subject to weather conditions.

The Tilwah finals in the Sheikhs category also saw the Mijrin brothers - Khalifa, Hamdan and Rashid - dominating the competition. 

The falcons of Khalifa Bin Mijrin representing F3 won five of the eight finals in the Sheikhs category with his falcon 'Austrian' clocking the fastest time of 18.390 seconds in the Qarmoosha Jernas final.

Hamdan Bin Mijrin said conditions on Friday were difficult because of side wind but it was same to all the participants.

His younger brother Rashid said the competition was getting tougher.

'It is challenging more than you can imagine especially with other birds it is very, very competitive. Just imagine more than 100 falcons vying for the first three positions,' said Rashid whose favourite falcon is called 'Two Colours', a beautiful black and white falcon who took part in the Pure Jeer competition.
The second of the Bin Mijrin brothers, Hamad, is virtually challenging his brothers as an individual entry.

'We are brothers but we have a challenge between us. That’s why we are getting better and better,' said Hamad whose favourite falcon is called 'Thief' because 'he always runs away from me.' 

Ms. Suad Ibrahim Darwish, Director of Championships at HHC, congratulated His Highness Sheikh Hamdan for winning for the second consecutive time in the championships.
