'The finals of the RC Airplane event brings the curtain down on a full season which began in December. We salute the spirit of sportsmanship and high level of standard maintained by contestants,” she said.

Retain title
MRM falconer Saeed Naseeb said they were happy to retain the title in the Sheikh’s category despite the strong competition after having six qualifiers in the finals.

“We were wary of the challenge by F3 falconer Khalifa Bin Mijrin but all the hard work and months of training has finally produced results,” he said dedicating their triumph to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Khalfan Butti Al Qubaisi falconer competing with the name Hamdan Saeed Jaber in the General Public category was pleased that his falcon ‘Spoq’ won the title for the second year in succession.

“I was confident that my falcon would grab the first position once again and he will achieve what we aspire for. My thanks to Bu Hamdan, a veteran falconer who showed professionalism in piloting the remote control airplane. We extend our gratitude to His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai for supporting such tournaments giving us a spirit of enthusiasm, pride and motivation to preserve the traditional sports such as falconry in our country,” he said.
