Sharjah Tatweer Forum holds recognition ceremony for Sharjah Leadership Program's third batch of graduates
February 13, 2017: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Sharjah Tatweer Forum (STF), a subsidiary of the Rubu’ Qarn (Quarter of a Century) Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, recently held the graduation ceremony of the third edition of Sharjah Leadership Program (SLP), which included thirty young graduates coming from the public and private sector.
The special ceremony, which was held at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, was received with wide acclaim, owing to STF’s efforts as part of its commitment towards providing young individuals with the essential skills and experiences needed in assuming leading positions--allowing them to effectively contribute to the promotion of sustainable development and cultural renaissance of Sharjah and the UAE.
H.E. Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's office, chaired the ceremony in the presence of H.E. Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of the University City of Sharjah and Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah International Airport Authority. The event started with the preview of a specially prepared video about SLP, detailing its milestones and achievement over the last 10 years. This was followed by Jassem Albloushi's opening keynote address, where he acknowledged the continuing support and guidance given by Sharjah Ruler H.H. Al Qasimi. He also commended Sheikh Al Qasimi for honouring the latest batch of SLP graduates; joining the ranks with over 350 leaders who have successfully completed the program.
The event, which was held in partnership with Bee'ah Sharjah Environment Company, was attended by senior government officials and key representatives from the private sector, including; Jassem Albloushi, member of the board of trustees, Rubu’ Qarn (Quarter of a Century) Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators; Dr Björn Kjerfve, Director, American University of Sharjah; Khaled Al Huraimel, CEO, Bee'ah Sharjah Environment Company, Tayfun Topkoc, Managing Director, SAP and Amin Al Zarouni, Senior Business Development Officer, SAP, HE Khalid bin Butti Al Hajri, Director General of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Director of the Sharjah Centre for Astronomy & Space Sciences, Noor Al-Noman, Director of Sharjah eGovernment department and Awatef Al Harmoudi, General Manager, Emirates Islamic.
“This event is a true embodiment of Sharjah's continuing contribution to promote leadership, which serves the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi,” said Jassem Albloushi. “We are very proud of SLP’s achievements for the last 10 years, strongly positioning itself as a house of experience, particularly in the move to qualify highly qualified candidates for leadership in the modern age of knowledge and innovation--all considered to be a goal of the present, the essence of the future and a bet of challenge.”
Albloushi added, “The Rubu’ Qarn (Quarter of a Century) Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators remains fully committed to the vision of H.H. Shaikha Jawaher bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of H.H the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, to establish the foundation and build an Emirati generation that is capable of leading the future--in accordance with a policy that covers the development of an enhanced Emirati personality that is based on the wise directives of the country's wise leadership.”
A special workshop entitled ‘Understanding Differences,’ was facilitated by the Sharjah Islamic Bank Academy. During the session, graduates and associate members of the STF discussed several key issues that are relevant to the fields of business development, including conflict resolution, building self-awareness, career development and leadership development.
At the end of ceremony, all sponsors were honored, including the Ministry of Economy, the American University of Sharjah, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Business Women Council, Etihad Airways, Sharjah Media Centre, Sharjah 24, Sharjah Islamic Bank Academy, Sharjah Business Women Council, Sharjah University City, Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC), Harvard Business Review Arabia, Al Jawaher Reception & Convention Centre, Emirates Islamic Bank and Petrofac Company.
