Successful Run of ‘Kids Fest' at Global Village Comes to an End for this Season
Interactive activities brought joy to families and drew smiles over kids’ faces.
Dubai, 26th February, 2017: The immensely popular ‘Kids Fest’ at Global Village, wrapped up for this season last evening as it witnessed a huge popularity amongst Global Village’s guests over the course of the festival’s 21 day period. Thousands of resident and tourist families visited the multicultural destination and enjoyed the various activities at ‘Kids Fest’, which took place from the 5th to the 25th of February.
This was the second time ‘Kids Fest’ took place at Global Village after the success following last season, when the multicultural festival park first launched the special children’s event.
Global Village brought back ‘Kids Fest’ this year with new activities and entertainment shows that were exclusively designed for the festival. These activities included special versions of the show ‘Shaabiyat al Cartoon’ & Globo, Global Village’s very own mascot, and a special edition of the dance show ‘City Jam’. One of the biggest highlights at this year’s ‘Kids Fest’ was the presence of characters from the popular cartoon movie ‘Angry Birds’, who performed at Global Village’s Roman Amphitheater, and the main characters from the famous Indian cartoon, ‘Chhota-Bheem’ which was brought out of India for the very first time. The Global Show Academy was another activity that made a return from last year’s ‘Kids Fest’ to entertain children with interactive dance sessions and workshops.
Ahmed Hussein Bin Essa, CEO of Global Village expressed his happiness at the incredible turnout of families at the specially created festival, adding that he was overwhelmed by the level of response from little guests who enjoyed taking part at the interactive events.
The CEO emphasized that bringing back ‘Kids Fest’ has solidified Global Village’s positioning of being one of the region’s leading family destinations. “The success of ‘Kids Fest’ has surpassed our expectations this season, and the number of visitors we have received has proved our efforts were well accepted,” commented Bin Essa. “Global Show Academy on its own has witnessed the participation of more than 3,200 kids throughout the festival who were keen on learning unique show moves and performing it at our Main Cultural Stage while parents enjoyed watching and cheering for them. We brought back ‘Kids Fest’ this season with a brand new itinerary to ensure a great experience for the thousands of families that visit us on a daily basis. We also put together a unique schedule of events and activities which was exclusive to Global Village, to ensure we were giving our young guests a unique experience and spread happiness among them. We are always keen to offer activities that are tailor-made to our audience and in this case especially to entertain our young guests” said Ahmad Hussain Bin Essa.
The ‘Kids Fest’ featured a wide range of activities which included face painting for children by professional artists, in addition to colourful balloon modeling into animal and cartoon shapes loved by children. Global Village also had a Globo-branded bouncy castle which allowed children to channelize their energy in a thrilling game. Additionally, performances were also held by the characters from ‘Angry Birds’ and the famous Indian cartoon ‘Chhota-Bheem’.
Global Village is the first family destination in the world to bring the characters of ‘Chhota-Bheem’ outside of India as part of its activities for ‘Kids Fest’. Global Village presented a customized show which had been put together by its entertainment team titled ‘Einstein – Bheem’ on its main cultural stage. The show was very popular among the little guests at Global Village who were watching the plotline unravel with undivided attention. Global Village’s guests can still enjoy the show which will continue performing every other week at the Main Cultural Stage until the end of the season.
Global Village also presented an interactive ‘Angry Birds’ show by the cartoon’s famous character ‘Red’, and his friends ‘Bomb’ and ‘Chuck’, who performed on Global Village’s Roman Amphitheatre where thousands of kids got the chance to meet and greet with their favorite characters and took memorable pictures with them. Global Village acquired the exclusive IP rights holder of ‘Angry Birds’ and ‘Chhota-Bheem’ in the region as part of its initiative to ensure that its guests receive world class entertainment experiences .
Young guests also enjoyed their time watching the ‘Shaabiyat al Cartoon’ and Globo show which was made with a new plotline exclusively for ‘Kids Fest’ and performed on Global Village’s main cultural stage.
Children visiting Global Village also took part in an exceptional experience with the Global Show Academy, during which kids showed off their dance talents by participating in the workshops led by professional dancers at Global Village’s Roman Amphitheatre, where more than 3,200 children were selected and invited to join performers from Global Village’s entertainment team on the main cultural stage for a finale performance.
‘Jobs and Sabz’ show was also part of the entertainment offerings at ‘Kids Fest’ this season - a lively and exciting show performed of young dancers, the performance incorporated different dance styles varying from Bollywood to Street Dance into one show. City Jam Reloaded, an exclusive edition of Global Village’s popular City Jam dance show, was another exclusive during ‘Kids Fest’. In this special edition, a dance-off took place between the City Jam and Jobs and Sabz performers who brought their best moves to the dance floor.
The children certainly had a unique line-up of special events through the 21 days period of ‘Kids Fest’, which came to an end last evening at Global Village. However festivities and other shows continue until the end of the 21st Season including Globo and Chhota Bheem and for those who might have missed out on meeting the characters, do hurry with your little ones to enjoy the entertainment at Global Village before the end of April 8th!
The fun at Global Village doesn’t come to an end until the end of its 21st season on April 8th, 2017. Giving guests ‘a new world everyday’, Global Village opens its doors from 4pm-12am Saturday-Wednesday and 4pm-1am Thursday-Friday and on Public Holidays. Mondays are family days at Global Village
