For its 21st Season, the multicultural festival destination is entertaining guests with interactive street performances.

Dubai, 2nd March 2017:  For its 21st season, Global Village, the region’s first multicultural festival park, has come back with some of the best street entertainment in the region. With more than 10 performances lined up every day, guests can expect to witness these performances while walking through Global Village this season and have front-row access to some of the most dynamic street theatre acts in the region.

Men on stilts fascinate guests as they walk around the park and one can often find a magician entertaining passers-by, next to a pavilion or even the children’s area. Globot, the toy robot is a character that is guaranteed to leave the little guests in awe and is very popular amongst children.

This season, Global Village’s street entertainment team consists of a group of international professionals. “The shows that we have here at Global Village are as good as you can get from anywhere around the world” said Victoria Barklamb, street team leader, who has more than 20 years of professional experience working in the entertainment industry. “Personally I believe in giving guests magical moments and I encourage the entire crew to do the same. In the end, it’s about seeing the smiles and laughter of our guests that makes our job so great”.

Commenting further, Adam Barker, who specializes in the stilt acts and is here for the second time at Global Village, said: “We have some of the most amazing audiences, and we’re very lucky to have that. They’re always eager to see more and interact with the entire team - and that’s exactly what we love to do! Global Village will just keep getting bigger and better and we are happy that we can contribute in our little way. Seeing people laugh whilst I'm doing my job is the real jackpot!”

Every season, Global Village’s entertainment team work on creating new and exciting shows for their guests, making sure to surprise them every time.

The Street Acts:

The Super Helpful Heroes
Global Village’s very own superheroes, the ‘Super Helpful Heroes’ are always around to help guests with the most creative solutions. With their brand new supercar, puffy muscles and quirky outfits, there is no task too silly for this trio.

The Builders and Men Not at Work
The Builders, as their name implies, go around the streets of Global Village working and constructing. However, they are no ordinary builders since they love to dance to the tunes of their broken radio as they go about their jobs. For these guys, it’s definitely all about work and play!
However, don’t be fooled by their groovy dance moves.  Their second act‘ Men not  at work’  will have guests seeing the builders wandering around looking  for the perfect spot to relax.

Mobile Magicians
Mobile Magicians fascinate Global Village’s guests with street magic acts in their distinctive and creative automobiles. Their acts include: the magic box, an illusion act where artefacts and pigeons disappear, and the stretch box in which visitors are fascinated by their body’s ‘flexibility and elasticity’.

Gorilla Gary
This season Global Village is dealing with a giant intruder, the Gorilla Gary.  He’s captured an adventurer in his cage and spreading caution to all. Don’t be scared if you bump into the hairy creature just don’t get too close, or you’ll end up in that cage too!

Junk Truck
As the name suggests, this truck is all about the junk and funk! With an attached stereo and drums set, the trunk team drives around the streets of Global Village with a drummer on top, playing the finest beats.

Mad Scientists and ‘Globot’
Taking scientific experiments to a whole new level, this season Global Village’s ‘Mad Scientists’ are looking for gravity across the park. With levitation shows and juggling skits, the mad scientists also have a friend who may assist them. ‘Globot’ Global Village’s very own robot, is also wandering around the park, entertaining guests and giving them a warm welcome.

The ‘Stilt-ers’
When it comes to the big and the bold, no one does it better than Global Village’s ‘stilters’. Whether walking around on stilts or riding bikes on stilts, there’s always something fun happening a few meters up.

The Falcon
When the sun goes down Barbra goes out! This beautiful falcon lights up the streets of Global Village on her daily glide around the park. This street entertainment prop is sure to be an eye catcher for guests as it goes around the park.

The Tourists
Back by popular demand, Global Village will host the nicest ‘tourist’ you’ll meet in town. Spreading their happiness with their smiling faces and excitement, the ‘tourists’ are all geared up while roaming around on their bags. Don’t be surprised if they stop and ask you for directions!

One-man band
Laurence Marshall, also known as the ‘One-Man Band’ will be playing a number of different instruments and beats in very unusual ways, making listeners think there’s an entire band playing. If you’re in the mood to sing, join the man that can play an entire music set as his feet move around!

Man in a bin
Don’t mind the man in the bin. He’ll just pop out and say “BOO!”. He doesn’t mean to scare you, he’s just being friendly.

Tapestry Man
Did you know that trees come alive at Global Village? Well, not all trees, just this special one you’ll find moving around. Consider yourselves warned, and if you think you’re brave enough to get over the spook, don’t forget to snap your selfie with the tree-man.

Global Village’s 21st season bids endless fun for all guests, offering world-class shows and entertainment. Access to Global Village’s street entertainment is included in Global Village’s entry ticket.  Global Village is open from 4pm-12am Saturday-Wednesday and 4pm-1am Thursday-Friday and on Public Holidays until the 8th of April 2017. Mondays are family days at Global Village.
