First ‘green edition'of Dulsco Classic Golf grabbed by Richard Green

As part of the ‘year-of-giving’ initiative, Dulsco will be providing free medical check-up for workers for every 10 shots played by a golfer during the tournament

Dubai, UAE, March 12th, 2017: Richard Green recorded the best score of the day in the individual (Division A) stableford format to clinch the 14th edition of Dulsco Classic, one of the oldest corporate Golf tournaments in the UAE. Vivek Ashoka took home the honours in the Division B category. In the team category, Johan Thuresson, Richard Green and Tanveer Karamat were crowned as champions after reaching a total of 79 points. A large group of corporate golfers participated in the tournament which was held at the prestigious ‘Montgomerie Golf Club, Dubai.

Howard Jung won the ‘In the Bin’ contest, that was in line with the green personality of the whole tournament.

David Stockton, Managing Director, Dulsco, stated that “It is such an honour to be able to host leaders and stakeholders from the country’s corporate world each year at our annual golf tournament. Corporate golfers have evolved into champions over the years with their skills on field. The highlight of the 14th edition of Dulsco Classic was the integration of sustainability concepts and the active participation by the players to further support the eco-friendly approach. Our objective through this annual event is to build valuable relationships among the corporate community and to foster a sense of sustainability.”

“As a part of the ‘year-of-giving’, Dulsco will be providing a free medical check-up for workers for every 10 shots played by a golfer. Even the trophies that were distributed to the winners were made up of recycled glass signifying the importance of recycling. Dulsco Classic brought ‘sustainability’ into greater focus as the game incorporated some innovative ideas to deliver a strong message that encourages us to protect the eco-system.” added Stockton.

Dulsco Classic tournament is one of the most awaited tournaments of the season among the UAE business community. This year, the event witnessed some nerve-racking clashes among the corporate golfers.

First runner up                 : Graham Hurdon (35 Points)
Second runner up            : Lal Premaratne (35 Points)
Division B: Individual Stableford winners (Handicap 16+):

Winner                             : Vivek Ashoka (34 Points)
First runner up                 : Ian Kirkup (33 Points)
Second runner up            : Naveed Khan (29 Points)

Team Stableford winners:

First runner up                 :  Alan White, Lal Premaratne, Paul Maycock, Alex Bibi (78 Points)
Second runner up            :  Jason Walters and Jasjeet Bindra (77 Points)

At Dulsco, we call it ‘the power of invisible’. We will further consolidate our thoughts and strategies and take this mission forward,” concluded Stockton.

‘Waste’ was transformed to ‘Art’ by talented local artists at Chocho Ma Studios. Dulsco and Chocho Ma Studios also organized a workshop for Emirati art students to learn this skill and guide them towards a sustainable future.

Nearest the Pin Hole #6 was won by Chris Johnson in Division A, Pin Hole #13 was won by Vivek Ashoka in the B Division category. Longest drive to Pin Hole #5, was once again won by Chris Johnson.
