Dubai, UAE, March 21, 2017:  “Working women never had it easy; their forays into career building are often interrupted or put in hold to fulfil their traditional roles as wives and mothers” says Houda Naji, CEO of younoh media.

Four years ago, after my second child was born, I decided to take a small break to be with my daughter for the first few months of her life. When I was ready to go back to the workforce, no one gave me a decent chance. They preferred to hire a woman with no children or a man for the jobs I applied for. It was a very frustrating time for me, as I was willing to work and excel and was not able to land a good job because I was a mother of two young girls.

I worked before with multinationals and I was exposed to the digital world and the growing need for companies to have an existence online and start the dialogue with their clients and potential customers. I also realised the gap that existed in the market between expensive big agencies and smaller, less costly ones. I decided to take the entrepreneur plunge and start my own boutique agency realizing the enormous potential for this start up and I decided that I will employ only ladies who had it as hard as me to get a job after becoming mothers.

With the help of an awesome 100% team of women from around the world, Younoh media is a full service digital marketing agency created and run by powerful women! We hire only women, We get them to become a little braver, a little bolder, a lot more influential, and a whole lot more impactful. We get them because we are them.
We hire specialists and professionals with an expertise in their niche. They are hardliners - and passionate about being an all-woman team in the office so they fit in the company's 'culture.'

One thing is clear: Motherhood is on the list for most women. Over 80% of us will become mothers by the age of 44, so embrace your future and support it at work! Moms work hard to meet deadlines because they have a powerful motivation—they want to be sure they can make dinner, pick their child up from school, and yes, get to the gym. Furthermore, millennials—with or without kids—want that flexibility that we offer.

Now, I’m a mother who can manage a large team from anywhere, and build a culture for women to succeed. I’ve never been more productive, satisfied and excited about my future, my career and my family.

There are so many ways we can support each other as women, but it starts with just recognizing that we’re all in different positions at different times in our lives and we need that support during our most wonderful time, motherhood.

I know there are still a lot of people who undervalue mothers’ contributions because they count hours logged in the office and not actual work. Most mothers lose if that’s the barometer for productivity.

It’s time to break that cycle, and give hard working ladies a chance to shine and show their worth.
