15 Not to Miss Experiences before the End of Global Village's 21st Season

Dubai, 29th March, 2017:  Global Village, the region's leading multicultural festival park, offers its guests fantastic cultural experiences ranging from tasty food, extravagant shops and unique entertainment. The UAE's No.1 outdoor entertainment hot-spot's 21st season is coming to an end on the 8th of April, 2017 and this is the perfect time to experience it for yourself.

With only few days to go, here's a list of the top 15 experiences that you and the family can't miss at Global Village before the season end.

Pavilion Wonders:

Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) Museum at KSA Pavilion
The KSA pavilion at Global Village is home to a unique museum dedicated to the life of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).  The museum presents facts about the life of the Prophet, from his way of living, the foods he ate and his belongings, through to his methods for teaching, which were derived from either the Holy Qur'an or in the Hadiths. Additionally, the museum has notable replicas of artefacts that belonged to or were used by the prophet, such as the ring he wore and used as a seal to stamp all his correspondences. The museum also has a number of interactive screens that allow people to explore the prophet's family tree and the different government entities present during the prophet's life.  

Pottery at Egypt Pavilion
At the Egypt pavilion, guests can not only enjoy watching the ancient Egyptian art of clay pot making, but also practice it themselves! 
Mr. Mohamed Atiyeh Mohamed, the pavilion's potter with 30 years of experience, makes a number of beautiful flower vases and other creations including the famous Egyptian 'olla', which has been used since the times of the pharaohs for keeping water and food cool. He then offers guests to take part of his pottery for free by teaching them basic skills and watch them take it further to create their own pieces of art.

Japan Calligraphy at Far East Pavilion
The Far East Pavilion is a must visit place for art lovers and guests are encouraged to visit Ms. Yuri Nakagaw, who makes handwritten Japanese calligraphy scripts, at the pavilion's heritage square. Ms. Nakagawa has been practicing the art of calligraphy ever since she was in elementary school and has been teaching the art for 15 years. Guests can enjoy watching this unique art and at the same get their own names written in the Japanese calligraphy style.

Knafeh at Abu Laban stall in Syria Pavilion
Guests can find a host of shops inside pavilions that sell either ready-made sweets or dry foods. One of the highlight favourite sweet this season is the traditional Syrian sweet of 'knafeh' which you can get at the Abu Laban stall in the Syria pavilion. Available in both its variations as either cheese 'knafeh' or a cream-filled 'knafeh', this syrup-infused pastry is not one to be missed! 

Caricaturist at Spain Pavilion
Drop by the heritage square at the Spain Pavilion to get the funniest caricature and perfect Global Village memory of you and your family. Taking 5 up to 15 minutes only, you can choose from the black and white version of yourself or go full colour and get a unique piece of caricature art. Don't forget there is a special discount for family portraits!

Bioscope Experience at India Pavilion
At the heart of India Pavilion in the heritage square, guests can enjoy a unique cinematic experience through a classic, colourful bioscope or 'hand-driven movie projector'.  First brought to Calcutta back in 1896, the concept of the Bioscope is still fascinating and is now brought here at Global Village for you to experience. Take a peek inside the Bioscope and enjoy your favourite Bollywood stars and even traditional Indian cartoons.

Bollywood Museum at India Pavilion
Bollywood lovers can experience the ultimate walk of fame next to their favourite superstars during Global Village's 21st season as they stroll down the Bollywood Museum's red carpet at the India Pavilion. Snap a picture with your favourite Bollywood stars- including, Deepika Padukone, and of course Shah Rukh Khan as an exact replica of the stars are uniquely created and queued in the museum. Get the chance to take a walk through the history of Bollywood with vintage posters and movie props for the real movie lovers.

Site-Wide Entertainment: 

Mini City
Mini City at Global Village is a great initiative for children which combines the fun of play-driving cars and learning the rules of the road. Children aged 3 to 12 are taught how to drive small toy cars, but most importantly, are able to learn about traffic rules in a fun and interactive way. The miniature city, which features UAE landmarks such as Burj-Al-Arab and the famous Al Dar building, in addition to a Dubai metro station is fantastic for children to roam around. At the end of their lesson, children are presented with a souvenir Mini City driving license with the support of Dubai RTA which they can take home and use again during their next driving experience.

City Jam Show
A guest favourite, the City Jam show is a fast-paced commercial dance show that includes different and exciting styles of hip-hop dance. Performers create a brilliant vibe as they perform dances which are unique to five of the favorite capitals of the world including New York, Tokyo, London, Mumbai and Dubai. Taking place on the Main Cultural Stage and set in an urban landscape – utilizing different levels, ramps, and projection surfaces, the show is guaranteed to get guests' adrenaline pumping.  

Globo Photo Opportunity at Globo Centre
While at Global Village, don't forget to stop at the Globo Centre where you can take a souvenir photo in wacky props and wear a wig just like Global Village's very own mascot – Globo! Once pictures are captured, you can choose on whether to print them on a t-shirt, a mug, or digitally print them for a true documentation of your experience.

Petting Zone at Freej Festivities in the Cultural Square 
The Freej Festivities centre, located in Global Village's new cultural square, hosts a petting zone where guests can cuddle up to 11 different species of animals.  From bunnies and birds to sheep and iguanas, the petting zone is a great place for all animal lovers. 

History Land Studio at World Avenue
Go back in time in the chicest of styles at Global Village's History Land Studio, located at the World Avenue. With the option to choose between four different themes: Victorian, Tudor, the Wild West, and Gangster, guests pick from a wide range of costumes and props and  get dressed up for a photoshoot set in the era of their choosing. 

'Abra' Ride
Catch an eco-friendly and smooth ride with your family with the RTA's electric-powered 'abras'. The stylish, yet culturally important ride, will take you and your family across Global Village's canal, giving you a glimpse of the colourful Fantasy Island rides and some of the popular pavilion façades. Want a great view of Global Village's dancing fountain? Just make sure to plan your abra ride to match the fountain's schedule, sit back and enjoy the show.  

Escape Hunt
If you are up for a challenge, come and experience the ultimate live escape game at Escape Hunt. Guests can set up teams of 2 -5 people and select from three different missions that last up to 20 min each. You can experience 'The Race for Justice' were you plan your escape from jail, play detective at the 'Manor Mystery' or fix a time traveling conundrum  in 'Treasure in the Tomb'. The aim is to find the clues, complete the selected mission and escape before it is too late!

Sky Coaster Ride at Fantasy Island
For those looking for an adrenaline boost hop onto Fantasy Island's unreal Sky Coaster. Best described as a larger version of a playground swing, with one massive difference - instead of getting pushed by your parents, you will be winched to the top of a launch tower and then dropped with free falling before swinging above Fantasy Island. Up to three guests can swing together and enjoy the breath-taking 33 meters fall.

Global Village will continue to provide a unique shopping, food, and entertainment experiences to its guests every day until April 8, 2017.  Global Village's opening hours are from 4 pm to 12 am Saturday to Wednesday and from 4 pm to 1 am on Thursdays and Fridays in addition to public holidays.
