H.E. Al Mansoori discusses new phase of economic and trade cooperation with President of Kosovo Parliament
Abu Dhabi, April 18 2017: H.E. Engr. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy, recently discussed ways to establish a new phase of economic and trade cooperation based on further exchange of investments and the development of partnerships in sectors of mutual interest with H.E. Kadri Veseli, President of the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo,
The talks were held at the Ministry's headquarters in Dubai in the presence of H.E. Engr. Mohammed Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary for Economic Affairs, and H.E. Humaid Bin Butti Al Muhairi, Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Affairs and Consumer Protection. The Kosovo side was also represented by H.E. Dr. Rajab Buya, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the UAE, and personalities from various government entities.
The group exchanged views on current economic developments between their sides and emphasized the importance of their historic relations. They agreed on the need to strengthen their economic and trade relations and pursue current opportunities and possibilities to serve their respective development goals.
H.E. Engr. Al Mansoori said that the two countries are linked by historic bilateral relations characterized by brotherhood and cooperation at all levels. He pointed out that the next stage requires enhanced channels of communication at the government and private levels to better explore areas of investment and cooperation and establish partnerships that benefit from the extensive investment capabilities of both parties.
The Minister added that the agricultural and food sectors are priorities under the UAE’s overseas investment agenda, and are expected to drive a new phase of cooperation between their countries in light of Kosovo’s capabilities in these industries.
For his part, H.E. Veseli commended the distinguished relations between the two countries, expressing appreciation for the support extended to Kosovo by the UAE which he noted was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of the Republic in 2008. He expressed his country's desire to enhance cooperation with the UAE and establish economic and investment partnerships supporting the interests of both parties in various fields, particularly agriculture, mining, and water management and treatment.
H.E. Buya, said that the UAE's support for the people of Kosovo will not be forgotten. He pointed out that his country hopes to reinforce cooperation in the next phase to support the building phase of Kosovo and to establish mutually beneficial quality development partnerships.
