Today, Kiehl’s chemists continue to harness the gentle, soothing benefits of Calendula with the launch of Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque. This gel masque, formulated with Calendula flower petals and Aloe Vera, bursts into a refreshing surge of cooling hydration upon application.

Specifically formulated for all skin types, including sensitive skin, Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque leaves skin feeling hydrated, soothed and refreshed after only 5 minutes—making it a quick and simple addition to any skincare regimen. Calendula Masque can be used regularly up to 3x per week, or as an instant skin pick-me-up after a long flight, a stressful day at work, or a sleepless night. THE LIFECYCLE OF THE CALENDULA PETAL

Like its iconic predecessor, Calendula Toner, Kiehl’s new Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque is formulated with hand-picked Calendula petals. Manually harvested every August in full sun, the whole Calendula flower is picked by hand and cultivated without pesticides. To preserve the delicacy of the flower, and to keep each petal intact, the petals are hand-sorted and sun-dried in the open air, without the addition of extra processing or artificial heat. When the petals arrive at Kiehl’s factory, they’re slowly added to a transparent Aloe Vera base. Once mixed in, the petals begin to infuse the formula with its golden color. Any unused petals and parts of the flower are placed back into the earth to fertilize the soil for future harvests.

CALENDULA PETALS & EXTRACT
Sourced from multiple locations around the world including Egypt & India, the Calendula (Calendula Officinalis) is a part of the Marigold flower family. Calendula Extract and Petals are known to be a source of polysaccharides, saponins and flavonoids, which are known for their skin soothing properties. Due to its anti-inflammatory effects on skin, Calendula flower is also highly regarded as a medicinal herb in both ancient Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine, with its usage tracing back for many centuries.

ALOE LEAF JUICE
Widely used for centuries in traditional and herbal medicine for its skin soothing benefits, Aloe Juice is sourced from the leaf of the Aloe Vera plant, which grows in the Dominican Republic. A multipurpose skin treatment, Aloe is highly regarded for its soothing and healing benefits. The ingredient is also known to possess hydrating properties, and to help increase the water content in skin.
