May 08, 2017: Menacorp, the UAE’s largest financial services firm, was recently recognized and awarded Certificates of Appreciation by the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) during the 7th Awarding Ceremony of the Brokers Licensing Qualifications Program for year 2016 – 2017. The ceremony, held at the SCA premises in Dubai, gathered several market participants and officials from the Authority, including H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Al Zaabi, Acting Chief Executive Officer, SCA; H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Hadari, Deputy CEO for Organizational & Support Services; and Matthew Cowan – CISI Regional Director–Middle East along with members of the Board of Trustees of Securities and the Commodities Authority Training Center.

Practitioners dealing in securities or the derivatives segment as well as Capital Market professionals in the UAE must pass the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) exams before they are licensed by the SCA. Furthermore, the SCA offers a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program for all licensed professionals who are required to undergo a minimum of 30 CPD hours in learning and training activities every year.

Nabil Al Rantisi, Managing Director – Brokerage, Menacorp, said: “It is an honor for our firm to receive this recognition from our regulator, the Securities and Commodities Authority as we have always put continuous education and training at the forefront of our priorities. We believe that it is something we owe to our employees as well as to our clients as it is the only way to guarantee them that they are dealing with professionals at the top of their game. We fully support the SCA’s ambitious plan to raise the benchmark for our local markets, which can only be achieved through higher qualifications and continuous training for financial professionals working in brokerage firms. This award is a recognition of our past efforts and a great source of motivation for the years to come.”

Menacorp’s Maggie Mansour, Head of Compliance; Anube Aravind, Head of Back Office; Mohamed Al Omairi, Head of Trading Executive Office; and Mahmoud Ahmed, Call Center Agent, received the honours from H.E. Dr. Al Zaabi. Mansour and Aravind were handed Certificates of Appreciation for being among the first 10 to complete the CPD in 2016. Al Omairi and Ahmed, on the other hand, were awarded Certificates for completing CISI qualifications.
