DUBAI, May 14, 2017 — Home ownership is a sign of success and is a desire for many individuals and families around the globe. And residents of the GCC countries are no different.  But when the move happens, the house is no longer a dream. It is a new-founded reality that homeowners often wish to perfect by ensuring the new home is smarter and more connected.

While the home has always been a place where families could escape from the pressures of the world, modern technology is transforming the definition of a “good, safe, secure home” to something more complex. How can safety and security be expanded through modern technology to offer benefits that go beyond the expectations of homeowners? What separates a house from a home?

“LG has been at the forefront of developing smart home solutions and technologies that improve upon everything that homeowners already value, expanding possibilities almost without limit ,” said Yong Geun Choi, President, LG Electronics Gulf. “Instead of reinventing expectations or challenging convention, this new wave of advanced home appliances builds upon what consumers are already looking for. These products emphasize customized, user-centric and intuitive control, allowing homeowners to apply technologies as they see fit.”

While the idea of a perfect home may look different from person to person, everyone shares the hunger for a space where they can truly express themselves. Advanced, user-friendly appliances and new smart technologies make it easier than ever for homeowners to fulfill their innate, human desire for a private space that reflects their passions and personality.

Smart Automation in the home

Smart automated homes come with an array of consumer benefits. Smart features offer enhanced security measures, allowing users to control their appliances and utilities. Homeowners can easily monitor their pets and keep track of everything that happens in the home. Smart home technology also conserves time and money by optimizing the house according to the consumer’s personal lifestyle preferences.

LG’s Hub Robot automatically takes intuitive control of the home, providing the utmost in convenience. Complete with Amazon Alexa’s voice recognition technology, the robot can perform household tasks, set alarms, create memos, display images of refrigerator content, and provide weather and traffic updates. It also monitors the daily activities of household members and can even give personalized greetings for each individual family member. Responding to individual settings can provoke a variety a reactions from Hub Robot, and it is even capable of providing basic childcare. The well-rounded Hub Robot allows users to enjoy the ultimate smart home experience, paving the way for the future of smart homes and IoT appliances.

The Secure Smart Home

For most living in the GCC, being able to monitor the home is important. After all, the home is a place where household members should feel safe and secure when they are at home and confident enough to leave their children and valuables behind with peace of mind. Simply taking a few basic security measures like getting a monitored home security system can easily discourage mischievous behavior.

LG’s Motion Sensor offers increased security, tracking the movement of people or pets and sending notifications to users whenever someone enters the home. The HOM-BOT Turbo+ utilizes three cameras to scan the front, ceiling, and floor with its 51 sensors allowing it to remain highly aware of its environment at all times.

The HOM-BOT’s HomeView™ feature provides real-time home monitoring while its HomeGuard™ feature instantly alerts users of suspicious movements. LG’s Hub Robot is also able to recognize faces and track movement within the house, adding another layer of security for homeowners.

“By truly reflecting consumer desires and preferences, LG’s latest household appliances offer homeowners the ability to turn their house into a home. These technologies strive for authenticity and bring the personal touches to any home, giving new homes a warm, lived in feeling of comfort and security,” concluded Choi.
