Dubai, UAE 27th May 2017: Following the leadership’s wise directives and vision of turning 2017 into a year for giving and selflessness, and as part of its CSR efforts, Dubai Customs’ CSR Section launched Ramadan Giving Initiative, which will help needy families throughout Dubai. The initiative will target 300 needy families in coordination with Beit Al Khair Society.

Commenting on the new charitable initiative, Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department highlighted the importance of giving as an inherent Emirati value.
“It’s no stranger to the UAE to occupy the first place in humanitarian efforts and initiatives worldwide. This is due to the wise directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai” he said.
Bin Gharib pointed out that Dubai Customs instils the values of giving and charity and encourages philanthropic deeds amongst its employees and other society members.
The initiative targets the needy families in Dubai and will provide the basic needs for them during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Bin Ghraib thanked all those who participated to make this initiative a reality, in particular Ghayyath volunteer team which will deliver these needs to the targeted families.
On his part, Abdeen Taher Al Awadi, General Manager of Beit Al Khair Society said: “We thank Dubai Customs for lending a helping hand to the needy. This will alleviate the burden these needy families have to face in the holy month and will help them spend an easier and happier Ramadan”.
