Al Noor Alumnus, Received an Award at the Dubai Government Excellence Program Awards in the Category of Unknown Soldier
29 May 2017. Dubai, UAE – Recognized for his hard work and unique skills, Mohammed Febin Basheer an Alumnus of Al Noor Training Centre received an award from His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the U.A.E. and Ruler of Dubai. The Award was from the “Dubai Government Excellence Program” under the category of “Unknown Soldier” which took place on 25th Aril 2017 in Dubai, UAE.
Mohammed Febin is a young man of 27 years from India who was a former student of Al Noor Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities. Through the Work Placement Program of the Centre, he is currently employed at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce from May 2009 in the Legal Services Department by providing them clerical support.
He joined the Centre in 2005 in the Senior boys Unit and spent 4 years at Al Noor where he received holistic training through trans-disciplinary approach in academics, computer, art and craft, music, dance, sports, swimming, gym, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and vocational training in Wood Design Technology, Printing Technology and Bakery and Confectionary. He was enrolled in the Work Placement Unit in 2008 where his training focused on developing skills in the domain of Life Skills, Work Habits and Office Skills. He also took Work Experience in Holiday Inn Downtown and Emirates Environmental Group before joining Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

The Work Placement Unit was set up in 1999. It fulfills the role of a vital link between the protected ‘school environment’ and the wider open ‘work environment’ matching the skills and talents of the students to meaningful jobs available in the region. Al Noor is the only Centre in UAE with a structured and professionally-driven Supported Employment and Work Placement Program.
