96 Takatof Volunteers bring joy to Children with Terminal Illnesses

ABU DHABI, 14 June 2017: Emirates Foundation, an independent philanthropic organization set up by the Abu Dhabi government to facilitate public-private funded initiatives to improve the welfare of youth across the UAE, concluded its annual Ramadan Charitable Football Championship in Ajman Youth Club yesterday, which focused on raising awareness and engaging youth in helping children with terminal illnesses.
The Football Championship was sponsored by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corpora-tion and engaged around 96 volunteers between the ages of 18-32 from across the UAE, all of whom competed to take the lead on granting the wishes and brining joy to ill children from across the nation.
The Takatof Ramadan Football Championship is in line with the vision set forth by the UAE leadership which aims to open new horizons and opportunities for Youth to make a real difference within their communities and their lives as well as engage the private sector through meaningful and impactful social initiatives.
Commenting on the success of the initiative, Maytha Al Habsi, Deputy CEO at Emirates Foundation, said, ' I am very delighted to see the strong determination of our youth to reach out and offer their unconditional care for others of who are less fortunate – their dedication and commitment knows no boundaries and it is through these initiatives that we are able to cement the values of giving and solidarity and expand the scope and scale of humanitarian work promoting the spirit of volunteerism across the nation.
Al Habsi further expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the generous support of-fered by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, confirming that it is through such visionary alliances and partnerships that we can scale up the impact and truly touch the hearts and lives of not just the children but their families and communities.
Al Habsi concluded to say that the winning team will have the opportunity to organize all the activities for children with terminal diseases granting their wishes and offering unique gifts through entertaining activities.
