UAE, July 30, 2017 - The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has announced the successful completion of the experimental phase of the ‘Mabrouk Mayak’ service which facilitates the completion of all official documents for newborn UAE Nationals. MOHAP launched the service at Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah in line with the strategic direction of the UAE Government to raise the level of satisfaction and happiness of customers by improving the services provided to them in all its departments. The initiative falls under the Government Accelerators Program aimed at fast-tracking government services to meet the objectives of the country’s National Agenda.

The service is set to reduce processing time and travel for customers completing the documents required for the registration of newly born UAE Nationals. It will narrow down visits to various government agencies from seven to only one, in addition to lessening expenses and fast-tracking the completion of documents.

Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for Health Centres and Clinics at MOHAP, said: 'Mabrouk Mayak is in line with the Ministry's efforts to improve the quality of services provided to clients and to eliminate all hassles for them to experience happiness, following the directives of the UAE’s leadership to promote happiness and satisfaction for customers by reducing the time to complete their documents. This is also in line with the rapid development of smart services in the UAE.”

Dr. Al-Rand highlighted that the productive cooperation between the Ministry of Health and its partners led to the success of the service’s experimental phase. The project received strong support from key stakeholders as the Ministry continues to exert maximum effort to develop new mechanisms for improving the quality of its services and achieving the highest levels of satisfaction and happiness for its customers, in line with government initiatives. The Ministry firmly believes that excellence starts from providing exceptional service primarily to customers and that the end goal of any MOHAP initiative is for customers to be satisfied with the services.

Dr. Amal Humaid Al Suwaidi, Director of Preventive Medicine in Umm Al Quwain, explained that the Mabrouk Mayak service has helped unburden UAE Nationals seeking the issuance of documents for newborns which used to require seven visits to several government agencies. It has reduced time as well as costs by assisting the customer in receiving all the necessary papers such as birth certificate, passport, ID card and summary entry, all in one place. Visiting only one agency helps save time and prevents stress, sparing customers the trouble of going to multiple government agencies to secure documents.

MOHAP explained that the mechanism for the new service involves entering the family data through the documents provided upon the registration of the mother in the hospital, verifying the validity of the data through the Ministry of Interior, and then sending a text message containing a link for the customer to complete the application online. The customer will then be able to fill up the application following simple and easy steps. The applicants will be contacted on when they can receive all documents related to the newborn, including birth certificate, passport and UAE ID card.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention continues to rigorously train its administrative and technical staff to improve services and ensure the successful administration of procedures for the issuance of identity papers such as passport, ID and digital image provided for newborns in the UAE.
