Dubai, UAE, 9 August 2017:  Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, announced that it has recently connected its services to The Opus, a prestigious development located in Business Bay. Empower will offer district cooling solutions to the commercial complex for a total capacity of 3,520 RT, which will result in energy savings of approximately 50 per cent for the development.

The Opus is commercial tower in the Business Bay district of Dubai designed by the late award winning architect Zaha Hadid. It is a lively and contemporary business destination; perfect for a strategic regional or international headquarter for multinationals and even local corporations. Even with its extravagant façade, the building interiors have been particularly designed to give unrivalled time effectiveness for the vertical transportation and an internal space of efficient office floor plate with over 87 per cent space efficiency.

“At Empower, we’re steadily expanding to new projects and developments in the UAE. Our partnership with The Opus is a value-addition to our prestigious list of clients and we will ensure to provide them with best energy efficiency solutions that will guarantee optimal savings for the project,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

The cooling system at The Opus will utilize almost half of the electricity for every tonne per hour, compared to the conventional cooling system..

“The district cooling solutions for The Opus will follow environmentally friendly standards, to provide the best energy efficiency and water consumption levels. We laud the developer Omniyat’s decision to choose district cooling over conventional cooling methods. It will not only offer them upscale maintenance and energy efficiency, but also generate long-term savings,” added Ahmad Bin Shafar.

“At Empower, we remain committed to offering our world-class services to commercial and residential projects in Dubai and beyond. Our proven expertise in district cooling solutions has made us the first choice for developers in the UAE, which reflects their trust and confidence in our services. We value this confidence and assure that we will continue to deliver services that are of highest international standards,” concluded Ahmad Bin Shafar.
