Chinese TV Brand TCL Witnesses Strong Growth Globally

TCL Multimedia LCD TV sales volume reach 9,603,392 sets in first half with strong performance in overseas markets

United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 29th August 2017:  TCL has been making waves across key global markets, including the UAE. The leading innovator in developing QLED technology and products, TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings Limited, is today amongst the top 4 leading television brands alongside Samsung, LG and Sony. 

The sales volume of TCL Multimedia’s LCD TVs’ grew by 34.1% in the first half of 2017 mainly due its strong sales performance in the North American market and other key markets worldwide. 

The growth in sales has been due to an increase in sales channels and active engagement in strategic branding campaigns and sponsorship alliances especially in the U.S. which has now led to TCL dominating Amazon.com TV sales in the US, with the top five best-selling TVs being TCL products! In Europe and South Asia also, the C70 TV series and the C2 UHD Android TV respectively, received an overwhelming response perpetuating a further momentum in sales growth. 

TCL’s performance in the UAE has also seen a growth of 75% over 3 years with the 55 inch 4UHD model of TCL televisions leading the market preference amongst the TCL products.

Apart from its diverse product portfolio, TCL has also been focusing strongly on productive partnerships/mergers coupled with strong marketing techniques in order to provide superior quality products to evolving consumers thus taking the brand a notch further. For instance, the brand recently joined forces with internet giant Tencent in developing the smart TV business. On July 5, 2017, FFalcon Technology Holdings Limited, a direct wholly owned subsidiary of TCL Multimedia, together with Tencent Digital (Shenzhen) Company Limited announced a strategic cooperation between the two giants to not only provide funding support for the development of the smart TV business, but also to establish a joint operation team for both parties. This partnership aims to increase the business operation value for family entertainment through big TV screens, and deepen the cooperation in product upgrades and innovation, market resource synergies and membership coherence, to achieve a strategic cross-boundary complementary effect on resources. 

More close to home, a strategic partnership has been forged between TCL Multimedia and Egyptian consumer electronics distributor and maker Elaraby Group to capitalize on growth in emerging markets by working towards setting up a TV production plant in Egypt under the new partnership to tap the market potential of the Middle East and Africa.

There is no doubt that there has been a paradigm shift in consumers’ perception towards Chinese products and the flourishing growth of Chinese product consumption in the UAE will only go higher from here.
