  • Umm Ghafa station opening meets growing fuel and convenience store demand in Al Ain City
  • ADNOC Distribution now has 362 retail service stations in the UAE
Abu Dhabi, 5 September, 2017:  ADNOC Distribution, the UAE’s leading operator of fuel service stations and convenience stores, has celebrated the opening of its 362nd station in the UAE.

The new 24-hour Umm Ghafa service station in Al Ain city can serve 12 vehicles simultaneously and includes a popular Oasis convenience store, a fast food restaurant and facilities for oil change, automatic car wash, an LPG cylinder depot and a tyre centre.

Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Distribution, commented: 'We are delighted to offer our customers in Al Ain greater service, choice and convenience with the opening of the Umm Ghafa service station – our 28th new station in 2017. ADNOC Distribution’s retail fuel business in the UAE is performing exceptionally well, with strong sales growth and stable, regulated margins. Our Oasis convenience stores are hugely popular with customers. The same goes for fast food restaurants and coffee shops such as McDonalds, Starbucks and Costa Coffee, which can be found in many of our service stations.”

Mr Al Rashdi continued: 'The Umm Ghafa opening is another milestone in ADNOC Distribution’s broader drive to increase sales growth and optimise performance. In keeping with the ADNOC Group’s 2030 growth strategy, we have ambitious expansion plans for the future and are actively looking for opportunities to boost sales across all of our business units. I look forward to making more growth announcements in the weeks and months ahead.”

Part of a growing network of 44 stations in Al Ain City, the Umm Ghafa service station incorporates world-class health and safety equipment and systems, ensuring a good environment for employees, customers and residents of the surrounding areas. For example, the station uses a vapour recovery system to capture and store fumes discharged by fuel tankers to help minimise their local environmental impact.

ADNOC Distribution is the sole retail fuel operator in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Every month, more than 20 million visits are paid to ADNOC Distribution’s network of 362 service stations in Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates of Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain.
