Abu Dhabi-UAE: 7 September, 2017:  Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) will take part in the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2017 exhibition, set to run from 12 to 15 September at the ExCel London exhibition centre in the UK. The company will promote its defence exhibitions and the UAE’s defence industry.

Under the umbrella of the UAE Pavilion, ADNEC will highlight the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2019, Naval Defence Exhibition and Conference (NAVDEX) 2019, the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference (UMEX) 2018, and Simulation and Training (SIMTEX) 2018. The pavilion will also showcase national companies active in the defence industry, one of the most important industries as per the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC, said: “We are proud of the superior calibre of the UAE's defence industry, owing to the generous support of our wise leadership and its concerted efforts to develop this vital field. Our participation in the world’s leading event that convenes key players from the global defence and security sector is part of our proactive marketing strategy.”

He added: “DSEI 2017 provides an ideal platform to introduce our defence event portfolio to a specialist audience on an international scale, and garner the attention of senior decision makers and industry experts. We are committed to presenting our exhibitions at the best venues around the world, and look forward to connecting with our global counterparts to discuss the future of the defence sector in view of the latest regional and global developments.”

For his part, Saeed Al Mansouri, Director of IDEX, said: “Due to the sheer magnitude and range of the companies participating, DSEI offers a unique opportunity for us to promote IDEX and NAVDEX 2019, and UMEX and SIMTEX 2018. Preparations for the events are stepping up according to the revised agenda set by the highly professional and internationally recognised IDEX team.”

ADNEC's defence exhibitions have captured the world’s interest, with the largest international companies participating in every edition. IDEX and NAVDEX 2017 witnessed an unprecedented success - the dual event featured 1,235 exhibitors, generated contracts worth more than AED19.2 billion and attracted 105,000 international visitors, who witnessed the latest technology advancements in the defence industry.

Meanwhile, the upcoming UMEX and SIMTEX 2018 is drawing the participation of the world's leading companies in the field of unmanned systems, simulation and training. The keen interest reiterates ADNEC's capability in advancing this vital sector and ensuring its bright future through supporting relevant current and new international events.

ADNEC’s flagship venue, the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, offers 133,000 square metres of interconnected floor space to meet the requirements of a wide variety of events and exhibitions. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and built to international standards, the venue attracted 1.5 million people across 480 events in 2016.
