ICAEW accredits six UAE universities with exam modules for its prestigious ACA qualification

Dubai, UAE, September 10, 2017:  Leading accountancy body ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) has approved six universities in the UAE for Credit for Prior Learning (CPL). The exemption programme is ICAEW’s process for endorsing content in undergraduate and graduate degrees to count towards the prestigious ICAEW Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification. 

Graduates of Finance or Business-related degrees from Bolton University Ras Al Khaimah Campus, American University of Sharjah, University of Heriot Watt, Middlesex University Dubai, Birla Institute of Technology and the British University in Dubai, who have achieved the specified marks, will be able to apply for exemptions for up to eight ICAEW subjects. The subjects include: Accounting, Assurance, Business and Finance, Business Strategy, Financial Management, Law, Management Information and Principles of Taxation.

ICAEW’s CPL is not restricted to accounting or finance degrees. If graduates have covered elements of the ACA syllabus at the university, their application will also be considered.

We are delighted to add six UAE universities to our growing directory and to give students from these schools the opportunity to complete the ACA qualification in less time and more affordably.”

The ICAEW Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification – which is held by board members in 82% of FTSE 100 companies – provides individuals with the opportunity to gain the depth and breadth of accountancy, finance and business skills, knowledge and experience they need to succeed as a chartered accountant; preparing them to become business leaders of the future.

Internationally recognised as a premier finance qualification in 170 countries, the Chartered Accountants (ACA) qualification from ICAEW is held by more than 147,000 professionals worldwide.
