Dubai, 19 September 2017: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Government Excellence Program under The General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai is organizing the 10th edition of the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices under the theme, “An Inspirational Government Shapes the Future and Achieves Happiness”. 

The two-day event will be held at Dubai World Trade Center on November 7th and 8th, and features keynotes of high-level speakers, including Minister of State of Happiness H.E. Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi and Former Saudi Ambassador to Japan H.E. Abdulaziz Turkistani. More than 2,000 leaders and experts in the public sector are expected to attend.

The Forum will host international speakers and experts in sectors of government to highlight the professional practices that have elevated the quality and efficiency of government work. Under the banner of this year’s theme, the event will also drill down into what inspires officials to marshal energy and enthusiasm for their work so that they shape the future and deliver happiness to the people they serve. 

The Forum will also continue its historical program of showcasing a variety of outstanding projects and initiatives that will continue Dubai’s success in its march to the future. Across both days of the Forum, speakers will highlight achievements made at all levels of government.

On the second day of the Forum, the winners of the annual Dubai Government Excellence Program Awards will lead panel sessions and lectures in parallel, providing in-depth experiences and insights that earned them top honors at the 20th Dubai Government Excellence Program Awards.

A mainstay of the Dubai Government Excellence Program, the awards recognize outstanding merit in an array of categories, including: best entity in Service Provision, best entity in the field of Smart Government, best entity in the Field of Innovation, Best Achievement of Dubai Plan 2021, The Happiest Environment, Best Government Entity for People with Determination, Dubai Government Medal winners & Innovative Employees. 

H.E. Abdulla Al Shaibani, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of Dubai, said: “The 10th edition of the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices is a testament to the success of the Forum in promoting the concepts of innovation, creativity and quality in government work. In this year’s edition, we focused the theme on the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in shaping the future, accelerating access to it and achieving happiness.”

H.E. Al Shaibani pointed to the contributions of Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices in laying down the foundation and rules of action for the development of government work and benefiting those who pioneer government work. He said, “We hope this year’s Forum will once again culminate in the achievement of the highest levels of quality and creativity in the provision of government work, and we are confident that attendees of the Forum will benefit from inspiring government practices and initiatives that have achieved happiness.”

On the sidelines of the event, Dr. Ahmad Al Nuseirat, General Coordinator of the Dubai Government Excellence Program, said: “The Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices pioneered the exchange of experiences and presented outstanding insight and knowledge in the field of government work. This year’s Forum is an opportunity for all participating government entities to consolidate the concepts of an inspiring government and shape the future of the industry by adopting innovative practices. 

Dr. Ahmad added: “Every success is built on small steps that help realize even greater ambitions. In order to play a constructive role in government, we must reward those small steps. With that in mind, we have carved out sessions where some of our most innovation-minded staff can share their experiences with others, and hopefully spread knowledge that will benefit all who participate.
