“Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre” participates in the 68th International Astronautical Congress in Adelaide, Australia

Dubai, UAE, September 20, 2017:  Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) will participate in the 68th International Astronautical Congress, in Australia, Adelaide, between September 25-29, 2017. The Congress is one of the leading space conferences worldwide, attended by presidents and CEOs of international space agencies, decision makers, researchers, academics and professionals in the space sector from 70 countries.

During the Congress, MBRSC will showcase its space projects and programs either launched by the Centre or delegated to it, under the umbrella of the National Space Program, which includes the Emirates Mars Mission - Hope mission, National Astronaut Program, Integrated Satellite Manufacturing Program and Mars 2117 '. The Centre will highlight its plans and strategies for implementation, as well as its vision for the future of the space sector in the UAE and the world.
H.E. Yousuf Hamad Al Shaibani, Director General of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, said: 'For the second year in a row, MBRSC will be participating in the International Astronautical Congress, which we consider an important platform that brings together space professionals from around the world, to enhance the development and growth of space industry and research globally”.

Al Shaibani stressed that “the Centre is looking forward to highlight the competitive features of the UAE space sector internationally, especially after the announcement of National Space Program strategy”. He noted that “the UAE participation in IAC 2017 is distinctive, since the International Astronautic Federation will announce 71st edition host city, which MBRSC submitted an official bid proposal to host it in Dubai in 2020”. 

During the participation, MBRSC team will present several research papers on Earth observation, space applications, and other aspects related to space exploration and space educational initiative.

Since 1950, IAF has been holding the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) annually, in cooperation with the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and the International Institute of Space Law (IISL). This year the Congress will be hosted by Space Industry Association of Australia
