India Boasts Largest Pavilion, Hong Kong Second in Number of Exhibitors

Sharjah, September 23, 2017:  Expo Centre Sharjah has announced that it will host more than 500 local, regional, and international exhibitors at the 43rd edition of the Mid East Watch & Jewellery Show. The biannual show, which will be held from October 3rd to 7th, 2017, is supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Exhibitors at the event will showcase their latest collections of finest watches and jewellery to a large audience of investors, professionals, tourists, VVIPs and general public from across the country and the rest of the region.

The event usually witnesses fierce competition among the pavilions of countries that are considered leaders in manufacturing watches and jewellery. They include India, Hong Kong, Italy, Lebanon, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Leading companies and brands from the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Taiwan, in addition to tens of UAE companies, will also take part in the event.

H. E. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Chief Executive Officer of Expo Centre Sharjah, said that the 43rd Mid East Watch & Jewellery Show is marked by the notable presence of numerous international pavilions encompassing world-renowned companies and brands. The Indian pavilion will be the largest in this year’s show, with 72 companies showcasing their latest traditional and modern jewellery designs.

Al Midfa added that the Hong Kong Pavilion is the second largest pavilion, with a total of 50 companies expected to showcase their creative designs adorned in gold, diamonds, and precious gems. The Italian and Lebanese pavilions will participate with 26 exhibitors each, while the Turkish and Thai pavilions will have 15 exhibitors each. The Singaporean and Malaysian pavilions, which will have 13 exhibitors each, rank in fifth place, followed by the Chinese pavilion with 10 exhibitors.

Al Midfa stressed that the large number of international pavilions participating in the show reflects the strong competition in targeting the region’s markets and the desire to build trade partnerships in order to capitalize on the growing demand for gold, diamonds, pearls, precious gems, and luxury watches. He said that the show represents an ideal opportunity for businessmen, industrialists, craftsmen, designers, and enthusiasts in the UAE and the region to obtain the best offers, form partnerships, and learn about the latest in jewellery fashion, innovation and design from across the world.

Expo Centre Sharjah is continuing its preparations for the new iteration of the Show to ensure the continuation of the success gained over the past 42 editions of the event. The exhibition is also set to enhance its growing prominence locally, regionally and internationally, as it witnesses a growing number of visitors drawn by the elegance of the watches, gems, gold and diamonds on display, as well as by the variety of activities and raffle draws taking place at the event.

MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show, a biennial event held at Expo Centre Sharjah, is an ideal platform for direct purchase, as it provides visitors with many opportunities to win valuable rewards and enter raffle draws for a wide range of prizes. Shoppers at the show gain a chance to win prizes for every purchase worth AED 500 made over the four days of the show.
