In Preparation for Abu Dhabi’s Digital Government Participation in GITEX 2017

Abu Dhabi, UAE - 27 September 2017:  Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC), the government entity in charge of Abu Dhabi’s ICT agenda and operational framework, hosted an informative workshop for over 60 representatives from 25 strategic partners from Abu Dhabi’s various government entities. The interactive session was held on 26 September 2017 and aimed to ensure complete alignment across Abu Dhabi’s Digital Government in preparation for a stellar participation in GITEX Technology Week, for the sixth consecutive year.

The workshop served as a platform for open-dialogue between all partners to ensure desired goals are achieved and participants were able to reflect on lessons learned from previous GITEX editions and discuss critical planning aspects including logistics, marketing and media campaigns and shed light on the new and exciting services that the Abu Dhabi Government plans to debut at the exhibition.

Commenting on the interactive workshop, Saeed Mohamed Al Mansouri, Executive Director of Shared Government Services at ADSIC, said, 'Abu Dhabi's Digital government is focused on supporting advanced initiatives that drive the full digital transformation and integration of government services and continually enhance users’ experience and overall happiness. Over the years, GITEX has proved that it is an ideal platform to highlight the ideas, measures and innovations that Abu Dhabi is taking and introducing to develop and prosper as a part of our joint efforts to further solidify Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for business, investment and digital excellence.”

'Today, digital transformation in Abu Dhabi has transformed from a goal into a tangible reality and a roadmap to support the realisation of Abu Dhabi 2030 Vision and plan, in line with the aspirations of our wise leaders. Abu Dhabi being ranked recently as the ‘smartest city in the Middle East and 13th worldwide’ in the field of technology indicators according to a global report is a testament to this success and a motivator for us to continue pursuing further excellence and innovation.”

'Our GITEX participation this year will also include a unique presence of Emirati youth from local universities to underscore their fundamental role in shaping the knowledge economy through innovation, creativity and perseverance,” concluded Al Mansouri.

During GITEX, Abu Dhabi’s Digital Government will highlight its year-on-year growth and continuous accomplishments for more than a decade and will highlight how innovation is deeply ingrained in all its digital initiatives given its role in economic development and diversification, providing users with a state-of-the-art digital experience.

Furthermore and as a key focus at GITEX 2017, the recently launched new and progressive “Abu Dhabi Digital Government” brand identity will be on display as part of the efforts to facilitate and introduce integrated digital solutions to meet the needs of all end-users across the Emirate. The new brand identity embraces and encompasses Sheikh Zayed’s vision, and depicts a ‘digital bridge’ inspired from the famous Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi that links the past, the present and the future while portraying one of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic landmarks. To add to the excitement, Abu Dhabi’s Digital Government pavilion at GITEX will also include a dedicated “Innovation Oasis” that will include key international technology partners who will display a number of new and exclusive innovations that have been introduced in Abu Dhabi and the greater UAE.

Abu Dhabi government entities participating in GITEX 2017 are the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, Department of Economic Development Abu Dhabi, Health Authority Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Department of Transport, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Abu Dhabi Department of Finance, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, Abu Dhabi Ports, Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions and Benefits Fund, Abu Dhabi Media, Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council, Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi, Centre of Waste Management Abu Dhabi (TADWEER), Family Development Foundation Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA), Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Centre (OSHAD) and the Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC).
