Dubai Government Excellence Program marks another success with its annual forum

Dubai, 1 October 2017:  The Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP) has announced that the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will be the main sponsor of the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices, an annual knowledge-sharing platform held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Organized by The General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai, the forum will take place from 7-8 November at Dubai World Trade Centre.

For nine years, the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices has aimed to establish a culture of excellence in government work by promoting the concepts of knowledge-transfer and continuous learning. The 10th edition of the forum will be an opportunity for attendees and participants to hear from local and international speakers in the field of government who are actively shaping the future and working to please the people they serve. More than 2,000 officials, government leaders and employees of Dubai government are expected to attend.
 

HE Abdulla Al Shaibani, Secretary General of the Executive Council, said: “For nine years, the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices has instilled the pursuit of excellence and innovation within government. Now in its 10th year, the forum will build on its earlier successes under the theme of ‘An inspiring government shapes the future and achieves happiness’. This theme calls on all government entities to embrace global best practices, and it salutes the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who has made happiness and positivity a government commitment.”

“We are honored that DEWA has taken a leading role at this year’s forum. Over the years, DEWA has built a true and effective partnership with the Dubai Government Excellence Program by placing quality at the center of its corporate vision.” 

Shaibani praised DEWA for its willingness to promote the concepts of leadership, innovation and excellence in its ranks and thanked the authority for coming on board as this year’s main sponsor.

Best practices for a sustainable development

An inspiring government shapes the future and achieves happiness
The forum will feature a mix of local and international speakers presenting a variety of government projects and initiatives that exemplify the highest standards in a variety of fields around the world. Additionally the event will bring experts on the latest trends in government work to discuss the DNA of an inspiring government and to hold dialogues about the future of government work.

The forum will also serve as a stage for the winners of the Dubai Government Excellence Program Awards to share their accomplishments with their peers, and detail the ideas and processes that earned them top honors at the awards in April.
