Sharjah, October 14, 2017:  Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) participated in the GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2017 in Sharjah, organised by the Sharjah eGovernment under the slogan 'History and Communication'.

HE Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, emphasised that the Authority was keen to participate in GITEX Technology Week for the fourth year in a row based on the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Al Midfa further noted that this yearly exhibition, which brought together the world's leading experts in technology, is extremely important in introducing the latest global developments in technology and information to the region and the Authority was eager to assimilate new methods of promoting the Emirate of Sharjah and introducing its landmarks and tourism elements in the most modern and sophisticated ways.

SCTDA showcased the latest applications for smartphones at this year’s event, highlighting Sharjah's new Mobile App, Virtual Reality, which enables visitors to immerse themselves in short promotional films about the emirate of Sharjah.

GITEX technology week is the region's largest IT exhibition, bringing together technology leaders, future influencers, business leaders and technology experts from around the world to experience and master the most advanced technology and drive digital transformation.
