United Arab Emirates, Dubai, November 20, 2017:  Sabari Indian School, the first Indian school that is pioneering Apple Technologies in its learning approach has come up with yet another innovative and noble initiative –‘Children for Children’.  The Children of Sabari have reached out to the children of the UAE with the view of garnering the support of children, for children and by children in its unique celebration of the Indian and Universal  Children’s day.

This event has received the kind patronage and support of the Consulate General of India.  As part of the ‘Year of Giving’, and with a view to bringing joy to children of war and children in refugee camps, the students of Sabari Indian led the ‘Children for Children’ campaign inviting students from schools across the UAE to contribute toys, books, clothes, jackets, blankets and much more.

The event marked the esteemed presence of Mr. Vipul, Consul General of India, Dubai; Mr. Pankaj Bodkhe, Consul (Education), Robin Singh, Ex-Indian Cricketer and Coach, Al Najah Board Members and Senior Management, Principals and representatives from other Indian Schools across the UAE, PTA members and Board of Governors, Sabari Indian School.

More than 300 student representatives gathered on Sabari grounds demonstrating their solidarity to this noble cause. Sabari Indian School and the student representatives from other Indian Schools were recognized and awarded by the Consul General of India.

Mr. Saikat Kumar, Partner & Senior Executive Officer, Al Masah Capital Limited addressed the audience with a key note stating, “The world cannot be changed in a day, but a day dedicated to planting the seeds of awareness in the mind of young ones, can yield a rich harvest in the future is what Saikat Kumar said in his welcome note.”

“It is indeed an honour to host this Children's Day celebration in the esteemed company of the Consul General and special guests. We are proud to host this inspirational event at a truly inspirational school. Sabari is a place where we celebrate children every day, and show them the way to a future of peace, prosperity, fulfilment and innovation - by strengthening character through personal development programmes, building confidence through unique drama classes, and using iPad technology to help children to new levels of creavity,” said Mr. Raza Khan, CEO, Al Najah Education.

“At Sabari Indian School, true to the Don Bosco philosophy of the head hand and heart we are committed to inculcating a sense of responsibility in our students to support their less privileged counterparts around the world and drive home the message of what children of UAE can do for the children of the world,” said Ms. Karan Brown, Associate Director, Indian Schools, Al Najah Education.

“We are overwhelmed with the participation and support received from schools all over the UAE, and truly hope that these children have access to a secure, peaceful and happy life ahead' added Ms. Karan Brown.

The United Nations Refugee Agency, UNHCR, estimates that there are more than 65 million people who have been forcibly displaced, with 22.5 million considered refugees – people forced from their home countries.

“We at Sabari Indian School believe in nurturing the core values of care and social responsibility at a very young age.   These values become the wind beneath their wings, empowering them to take flight and reach out to the community and world at large. What better occasion than Children’s Day to reiterate what children can do for children! We are glad that schools from all over the UAE have supported us in this campaign and we aim to continue this positive momentum in the years to come,” concluded Latha Venkateswar, Principal, Sabari Indian School.

The donations in kind from Sabari Indian School and all participating schools in the UAE will be sent to Red Crescent, Dubai so that the same can reach the refugee children across the world.

Sabari Indian School which operates under Al Najah Education LLC has been a part of several initiatives including Dubai Cares Walk for Education, Somalia Relief Fund, Adoption of endangered animals from WWF, the Carnival of Giving and many more.
