
“Dubai Culture” Participates in Kuwait UAE Week with a Programme Full of Activities
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 29 November 2017: Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, hosted a number of activities to celebrate ‘Kuwait UAE Week’ - ran from 27th – 29th November 2017 at Zabeel park. The activities were organised in collaboration with the Kuwaiti Consulate General in Dubai.
The joint initiative aimed to highlight the close relationship between the two countries across various fields, and in the culture and the arts sector in particular. The initiative is very important as it also coincides with the Martyrs Day and UAE National Day.
The initiative’s activities included Arabic calligraphy corner, where artistic pieces were crafted inspired from both the UAE and Kuwait flags. In addition, a group of craftsmen inspired the colours of the two countries’ flags to create Tali and Al Suqafa works. The activities also include an interactive live painting station open to the public, where the artworks resulted from the station will be gifted to the Kuwaiti Consulate General in Dubai.
Saeed Al Nabouda Acting Director General at Dubai Culture, commented: “We are proud to organise this joint initiative, which reflects the strong ties we have with our Kuwaiti brothers. These activities were of additional importance due to the fact that they coincide with the UAE National Day celebrations and Martyr Day. By organising events from this nature, we are contributing to increase awareness about the cultural and artistic scenes of both countries.”
His Excellency Dhiab Farhan Al-Rashidi, Consul General of the State of Kuwait in the Emirate of Dubai and Northern Emirates, said: 'Following our wise leaderships directives to strengthen the bilateral relationships with our brother in the United Arabic Emirates during the UAE 46th National Day celebrations and . Martyr we hosted ‘Kuwait UAE Week’ event in Zabeel Park which ran from 27 to 29 November 2017”.
On the sidelines of these activities a lecture held under the title - Kuwait and the UAE historical profiles - and was presented by Dr. Mulaa Al-Anzi, head of the Cultural Office of the State of Kuwait in Dubai in The Cultural & Scientific Association in Dubai on Wednesday 29 November 2017”.
Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors.
