United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 10th December 2017:  Eros Group, the leading distributor of world renowned brands in the UAE, in partnership with one of their leading brands Hitachi has outlined a donation of air purifiers to institutions that support children with special needs.

The company’s CSR initiative is aimed at creating awareness about the health hazards of indoor air pollution especially on the health of children. Using air purifiers not only helps in purifying the air that circulates internally, it also helps in reducing triggers such as pet dander (flakes of skin), mold spores, dust and tobacco smoke particles.

“Hitachi's global vision is to contribute to the society through the development of superior original technology and products and our corporate and social responsibility (CSR) activities are also at the heart of this vision. The company aims to build a better future through collaborative creation and therefore, together with Eros Group, we have supported to donate Hitachi Air Purifiers to institutions with special needs”, said Hidenori Zen, Managing Director, Hitachi Sales Middle East.

Deepak Babani, Executive Vice Chairman, Eros Group, authorized distributors for Hitachi, commented “Indoor air pollution can greatly affect not only the child’s health but the overall health of the family and can have both short term and long term health issues. Our partnership in this CSR Drive with Hitachi not only synergizes with their objective but also ours to reach out to the future generation.”

Niranjan Gidwani, CEO, Eros Group adds, “The WHO reports that 92% of the population breathes air with unhealthy levels of pollutants. It is therefore imperative to educate people on why is it essential to use air purifiers as health issues due to indoor pollution can be greatly reduced and in some cases, completely avoided, through the simple installation of a small air purifier in one’s room / living area. We are therefore extremely proud to donate air purifiers to institutions for special needs so that they can experience the benefits of using an air purifier and breathe smoke-free & pollution-free air. While this is just the first step of this initiative, we hope to continue this endeavor in future as well.”

“Extreme temperatures, poor indoor air quality due to the continuous use of air conditioning, double glazed windows that prevent direct UV sun light penetration (the first known natural disinfectant) and frequent sand storms along with the surrounding construction dust, all these factors can greatly affect everyone’s health and therefore it’s advisable to use air purifiers at home. The Hitachi air purifiers provide clean and breathable air and are designed to make the air you breathe unpolluted, safe and healthy. They are available in a variety of models and are tested and certified to protect the child against elements that are intangible and unseen”, added Mr. Zen.
