Dubai, UAE, 10 February 2018:   Dubai Customs and the International Humanitarian City (IHC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on eLink and cooperation in exchanging information related to humanitarian aid and stocks.

The MoU was signed by Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, and IHC CEO, Giuseppe Saba.  It builds on the strategic partnership between the two entities and the importance of cooperation among different authorities to promote innovation, information sharing, and best practices.

The agreement comes as the world witnesses an increase in humanitarian crisis and a growing need to efficient international action in response to emergencies that are affecting many countries around the globe.

“The agreement supports the vision of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and  Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the United Arab Emirates to be the world’s leading humanitarian aid and relief capital, and this is the very will of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan,” he said.

“IHC plays a preponderant role in global humanitarian relief, which has enabled millions of households and communities around the world to achieve greater self-reliance.”

On his part, IHC CEO said: “IHC and Dubai Customs teams have always been working in close collaboration to better serve the humanitarian community and facilitate their work. We are delighted to ink this document and we expect it to be a cornerstone for a longtime partnership because, together, we can make a difference.”
