Abu Dhabi's Top Scoring Schools & Streets Teams to Face Off in Last duFC Knock Out Stage Ahead of UAE Semi Finals

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 22 February 2018 –   The last day of du Football Champions (duFC)’s Abu Dhabi group stages took place this week during which top teams in the official UAE Schools and Streets Cups in each category faced off in the knock out stage which will determine which team will move forward to the UAE National Semi-Finals which will be hosted in Dubai in April.
 
They new UAE Schools and Streets Cups’ U12 category, which was introduced to enable younger football players with the opportunity to get discovered by LaLiga scouts through the tournament, saw over 300 young footballers participating in Abu Dhabi alone.  
 
Top Talents
 
Another week of intense play enable LaLiga scouts on the pitches of the UAE Schools & Streets cup to discover potential talents who, if selected will be invited to join the exclusive du LaLiga High Performance Centre.
 
Young Robert March from British School Al Khubariat’s U12 team one such talent whose natural affinity for football and contagious enthusiasm led his team to top their group and impressed the scouts.  Other top players this week included U16 Mohamed Tarek, U14 Ameen Yazi and u12 Yousef Mohammed, Mustafa Mohammed and Abdelrahman Ahmad.
 
UAE Schools Cup
 
In the U16 category it was category D were top matchs took place as  Al Dhafra Private School and British School Al Khubairat  played neck to neck to top  the group.  It was a superb match when they met and bth sides showcased great skills which caught the attention of LaLiga scouts.  The match was tied 1-1 and it is Al Dhafra Private School who lead the table on goal difference.  Other teams moving to the knock outs include Raha International School and Al Najah School
 
The U14 teams from British School Al Khubairat and Al Raha International School have also made it through to the Abu Dhabi knock out stages where they will battle it out for one of two spots at the national semi-finals
 
Having trained hard in the lead up to their group stage matches U12 teams Al Suqour School Cycle 2 and Adnoc Schools played like pro-footballers leading their teams and showcasing their skills.  Joining them in the next round are British School Al Khubairat and Merryland School among others.
 
The Girls
 
The UAE Girls Challenge, the nations largest football tournament for girls across the nation saw the final 2 groups of girls teams in Abu Dhabi playing their best football for their chance to take the cup.  Proving that girls can play with superb technique it was International Community School and Cambridge High School who join AISA and Regional Sports at the Abu Dhabi knock outs.
 
UAE Streets Cup
 
Over on the pitches of the UAE Streets Cup it was goal after goal as the day finished off with an incredible 78 goals scored across the U16 and U14 categories.  Teams moving forward include Al nadi Al sya7i and Abu Dhabi Thistle U16 in U16 and Bright Riders in U14 category.
