Dubai, UAE – March 06, 2018:   The Embassy of Italy to the UAE, the Consulate General of Italy in Dubai and the Italian Trade Agency in Dubai in collaboration with Dubai Design District are all set to host “The Night of Italian Design” at d3 today evening, in Building 7, starting at 6.30 PM. The event, which is open to the public, has 22 Italian design showrooms, representing over 100 Italian brands, joining as part of a walking tour in the evening. There will also be eight other brands that will display their designs in Building 7 and in the common areas of d3. An opening keynote speech will be delivered by internationally renowned architect and designer Fabio Novembre, selected for the occasion as Italy’s “Design Ambassador” to the UAE.

 

The event is part of “The Italian Design Day” initiative promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, together with the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and the Triennale di Milano, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency and other partners. The initiative seeks to promote the Italian design industry at a global level. 

 

Speaking ahead of the event in d3, His Excellency Liborio Stellino, Italian Ambassador to the UAE, says: “A special evening as The Italian Design Night inevitably needed some special ingredients. We found them in the generous hospitality provided by the Dubai Design District, that in a few years has become a point of reference in the region for the high quality of management and proposals; in the passionate leadership of one of our best design “Ambassadors”, Fabio Novembre and in the enthusiastic participation by all those who, with commitment and passion, represent the best brands of the Italian design in Dubai and deserve the full support from Italian institutions.”
