Dubai, UAE, 22 March 2018:  du, from EITC, has proven its technological dexterity and innovative edge yet again in winning the ‘Satellite Services Innovation of the Year’ award during the 2018 Digital Studio Awards in Dubai.

The awards acknowledge industry excellence for the TV, film, and broadcast production sectors in the Middle East.

“At du, we pride ourselves on our ability to innovate across sectors and come up with versatile services and solutions that make a meaningful difference in our customers’ lives,” said Hany Aly, Executive Vice President, Enterprise Business, du.

“As the media industry transforms and adapts to keep up with new and evolving consumer behaviors, we are taking the opportunity to expand our services to push limits and break boundaries surrounding content quality, distribution, and accessibility.

We are honored and delighted to accept the award for ‘Satellite Services Innovation of the Year’ at this year’s Digital Studio Awards, which serves as a testament to our continued dedication to innovating in different ways and fulfilling our customers’ unique needs.”

du received the ‘Satellite Services Innovation of the Year’ award at the 2018 Digital Studio Awards for its latest innovations in content delivery services.

The brand has seamlessly integrated Satellite, Fibre Networks, Digital Asset Management and Over-the-Top (OTT) services to remove the limits on delivering content, providing a critical link between customers and end users no matter what device, platform or technology they are using.

With du’s High Definition Direct-to-Home (DTH) delivery service platform, available across its entire satellite footprint including Nilesat, Arabsat and Hotbird the company supports the transition for Free to Air channels that makes High Definition content more accessible.

du has also become the first telecommunications provider in the MENA region to deliver a complete portfolio of end-to-end Media Cloud Services through du, which enables broadcasters and content producers to rapidly serve new demand and shape content to serve new, and changing viewer behaviors with its Media Cloud.

Furthermore, du’s teleport services can be seamlessly integrated with its Data Centre, Exchange and Connectivity services, allowing content providers to connect and serve local, regional and global audiences.

du's teleport is the largest in the MENA region and is strategically located at the heart of the UAE.

It’s an ideal location for satellite visibility covering 5 continents, and enabling near global coverage.

Finally, du has recently expanded its growing infrastructure by launching a new teleport facility designed to accommodate up to 50 earth station antenna systems in order to meet the growing demand of its customers locally and internationally.

The Digital Studio Awards brings together the best of the TV, film, and broadcast production industry, with more than 300 senior figures from the region’s studios, broadcasters, pre-production, and post-production facilities gathering to witness the winners in hotly contested categories.

This year marks the 14th instalment of the awards acknowledging the best industry achievements the Middle East has to offer. The 2018 Digital Studio Awards took place at Park Hyatt in Dubai on 21st March.
