A brand-new confidence initiative for kids in Dubai.

Dubai, UAE, April 25, 2018:  Parents of school age kids are excited about the new initiative by Runway Dubai and Go Getters to help Kids build their confidence level in this fast-paced world that they are born into.

The initiative called ‘Petit and Positive’ is a platform with different activities for kids to help them overcome their fear of speaking up and speaking out a hash tag trending on Instagram.

Capital School in Al Qusais, Dubai, is collaborating with Runway Dubai to create this awareness in this region. Mr. Adel Al Safar, Chairman of the school, says that technology has taken over our world, and it is important to keep an eye on the kids and create awareness of the slowly creeping epidemic of insecurities in children. The school is collaborating with petit and positive kids by providing an amazing platform. The weekend of the 26th of April will be packed with activities for kids including a fashion catwalks where kids will be taught to proudly display clothing from local designers, team building workshops, healthy competitions, and photography workshops.

The passionate designers joining the platform have one thing in common, their desire to inspire children through their creativity.

Zuena Rajab, is a self-taught fashion designer from Kenya, and creator of Zee4kidz. She embarked on a journey with her biological daughter Ilham, to give orphans in Kenya an opportunity that they deserve. The proceeds from her collection will help support the orphanage that she supports back home in Kenya.

Zuena is fascinated by African prints which she has used to tell a story

through her debut collection.

Ayesha Zaki will also debut her kids’ collection on the multi brand platform. Her collection is inspired by teenagers who are focused and passionate about making a difference through their talent. As a Bollywood film costume designer, Aisha has made a collection for young actors who will be walking the ramp with style.

Nienke Salomon is a Dutch designer that loves fabric, and uses special sample pieces as source of her inspiration. Her collection is targeted towards the pre-teen girls who feel they are too old for kids wear, but do not fit into women sizes yet. Her 2018 collection is based

on the lovely teenage girls from different nationalities all across Dubai, In her collection you can find diversity, elegance and Charm. Nienke will splash the catwalk with a windmill of colors.

Record holder from India, Apeksha Binoj will be mentoring the kids in a sketching contest and inspiring them with her story and journey through the fashion industry and what it means to hold the record as the youngest designer in India.

Emirati photographer Rowdha Al Sayegh will be holding a short photography contest, mentoring the kids on how to appreciate imagery. Discovering her talent as a child left her feeling the responsibility of giving back to children and making sure they have the opportunity like she did. Rowdha is passionate about patriotism through art, a story teller by nature, and a teacher by calling.

The kids from Golden talent school located in the heart of Karama will be performing at the show. The talent director James Fernandes who has been in the music scene for thirty years is proud to be showcasing their musical skills.
