Zenofer Fathima champions special needs kids to build high self-esteem, took them to the runway for ‘Walk of Confidence’ show

Dubai, UAE, May 13, 2018:   With the Holy Month of Ramadan just around the corner, the true spirit of compassion came alive at the just concluded Sambhavana festival, a week-long series of events in Dubai aimed at promoting inclusion for children of determination.  The festival, with Her Highness Sheikha Hend Al Qassemi as chief guest, was organized by Eduscan and was held in support of the Year of Zayed initiative, which focuses on tolerance and charity as among its key values.

Sambhavana, in keeping with its core objective of empowering special needs children by nurturing their self-esteem, featured a fashion show as main highlight and was participated in by Zen Productions CEO and Founder, Zenofer Fathima, as part of the judging panel and pool of mentors. 

“It was an honor for me to be a part of this beautiful event.  I believe that we must all do our part to ensure that children with special needs are given the opportunity to succeed, and that they are not excluded for what some of us might see as differences.  Feeling a sense of belonging and connection, and of being valued, would surely make a positive difference in their lives,” Zenofer commented.

Aptly called ‘Walk of Confidence’, the fashion show saw children with physical and developmental challenges grace the runway in their prettiest dresses and slickest suits.  A preliminary round was also held where Zenofer joined other judges in choosing the kids with the best smiles and the most graceful trots on the catwalk.

“The fashion show was not only a creative outlet for these kids but a platform to boost their self-esteem as well.  It gave them the chance to be center stage in a fun, purposeful way,” Zenofer added.

Zenofer also extended further support to the event through her production outfit.  As a sponsor, Zen Productions provided professional videography services during the festival, capturing its most memorable moments.  The company also awarded cash prizes to the top kiddie models as well.

In addition to Walk of Confidence, Sambhavana also featured a leadership summit as well other artistic presentations, among them stage play.  It culminated with contests and prize-giving at the Sambhavana Finale in Bur Dubai.
