Department of Economic Development-Ajman welcomes visit of delegation from Ministry of Economy

UAE, 14 May, 2018 - The Department of Economic Development – Ajman (DED-Ajman) recently welcomed the visit of a delegation of the National Program of the Ministry of Economy. The visit was aimed towards the Ministry's continuing efforts to support modern and innovative start-up companies in the UAE. During the meeting, both parties discussed opportunities and ideas on how to further cooperation and collaboration across joint innovative and creative projects that are aimed towards contributing to the country's economic growth, in line with the goals and objectives of UAE Vision 2021.

Zahra Ali Al Bannai, Director of Planning and Business Development and Aisha Ahmed Abdulla Kajour, Head of the SME Department welcomed the visiting delegation led by Samah Al Hajri, Director of Industrial Policy, Ministry of Economy. Both DED-Ajman officials lauded the fruitful cooperation and strong partnership ties enjoyed by the Ministry and the department, which has played a key role in enhancing the performance of the UAE's national economy.

The meeting saw the discussion and review of many ideas, suggestions and recommendations that are aimed at helping transform the national economy to a competitive knowledge-based economy that openly supports entrepreneurship; enhances innovation, research and development and encourages high-value sectors to help reinforce the UAE's position across the world innovation index as an emerging knowledge-based economy.

Director Al Bannai said, “Our recent meeting with the delegation from the Ministry of Economy was fruitful and productive. We were able to talk about important issues, including compliance with the requirements set forth in being admitted into the National Program, alongside the incentives and facilities that the initiative offers to its members. The meeting also tackled the work flow of the program and its goals, wherein both parties have agreed to support national companies in marketing their innovations and establishing a national culture that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship.”
