Dubai, UAE, July 17, 2018:  The Dubai Business Women Council held a meeting to discuss ways to enhance the economic relations between business women of Dubai and Serbia, and enact joint economic and trade partnerships. The meeting was recently held between Dr Raja Al Gurg, President of the Dubai Business Women Council; and HE Stanimir  Vukicevic, the Ambassador of  Serbia in the UAE, at the premises of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Faiza Al Sayed, Vice President of the Dubai Business Women Council.

The two sides reviewed possible avenues of cooperation and the various investment opportunities that are available in both countries. The two sides also stressed the importance of benefitting from the strong political ties that exist between the UAE and Serbia to enhance the economic relations between the two countries.

Dr Raja Al Gurg, President of the Dubai Business Women Council, highlighted the importance of the Serbian market to the business community in Dubai, since it is considered a gateway to Central and Eastern Europe. She added that business women in Dubai have vast expertise in various economic sectors, and that they are looking forward to expand into the Serbian market.

She also commented that the meeting with the ambassador further characterizes the special relationship that exists between the council and the business community in Serbia, and that the meeting comes as a continuation of the council’s visit to Serbia in 2016, where the delegation met with the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and attended a conference that included over 100 Serbian business representatives from various sectors and government ministers.

Al Gurg called for both sides to further cooperate in the Real Estate, Agriculture, Tourism, and Medical sectors, and invited Serbia’s business women to take advantage of the various investment opportunities in Dubai. She remarked that the council is prepared to facilitate the investments of Serbia’s business women in the emirate, and aid them in finding economic partners in Dubai.

HE Stanimir  Vukicevic, the Ambassador of  Serbia in the UAE, stated that the meeting allowed him the opportunity to review the various services that the council offers to business women. He expressed his admiration for the role that the council plays in empowering and educating women to succeed in the work place.

Vukicevic also praised the achievements of Emirati women in Dubai’s labour market, and extended an invitation to the business women of the emirate to visit Serbia and review the various investment opportunities that are available in the country.
