Ras Al Khaimah, 12 August 2018:   Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) Business Excellence Awards is back on its 5th edition and now seeking entries from outstanding free zone and non-free zone companies in Ras Al Khaimah. RAKEZ collaborates with Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development (RAK DED) for the second year to hail excellent businesses that greatly contributed to the emirate’s economy with AED 200,000 worth of cash prizes.

Ramy Jallad, Group CEO of RAKEZ, said: “Our team up with RAK DED last year has definitely added more spice to the programme. So here we are, delighted to collaborate with RAK DED for the second year. With RAKEZ and RAK DED jointly presenting RAKEZ Business Excellence Awards, we have created a platform for recognition with no divisions because businesses here, regardless of where they are registered, are all triggering the development of Ras Al Khaimah.”

Jallad added that he is “expecting to see more notable applications this year as we just recently held our first-ever RAKEZ Business Excellence Awards Submission Workshop, which was conducted by our judging panel, International Performance Excellence (IPE)”. Held on 9 August 2018, the workshop provided useful insights to help interested participants prepare a strong application for the awards programme.

“We are pleased to partner with RAKEZ again in bringing this year’s RAKEZ Business Excellence Awards and I can say that this collaboration is going to be a longstanding one,” said Dr Abdulrahman Al Shayeb Al Naqbi, Director General of RAK DED. “This programme plays a vital role in acknowledging and rewarding the best performers, and most importantly, in encouraging businesses to attain excellence in their fields. We urge all RAK DED and RAKEZ clients to submit their entries because their passion and achievements deserve to be celebrated.”

Similar to the previous year, there will be seven categories in the awards which are open for all RAKEZ clients while RAK DED clients can only compete in the first four: Best New Startup, Best Small Business of the Year, Best Corporate Social Responsibility, Best Contributor to RAK Development, Best New Technology, Fastest Growing Company, and Best Industrial Company of the Year.
