Sharjah, UAE, 18 August 2018:   The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry will launch the 2nd edition of the “Grand Summer Discounts” Campaign on Sunday. The campaign, which is organized by the chamber as part of the Sharjah Summer Promotions 2018, will take place during August 19-21.

The Mega event, which will include the participation of all the shopping malls and a large number of retail stores in Sharjah, will offer shoppers promotions and discounts up to 80% off on a large variety of products and famous brands.

The “Grand Summer Discounts” campaign, which will be held in conjunction with Eid Al Adha, also offers the chance to win hundreds of valuable prizes that are offered by the emirate’s shopping malls to its visitors, which include the latest vehicles, foreign trips, school scholarships, and laptops among others.

Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations and Marketing at the SCCI, remarked that the Grand Summer Discounts campaign is considered one of the most important promotional initiatives that the chamber organizes, in coordination with Sharjah Economic Development Department, and in cooperation with the Shopping Malls Sector Business Group that falls under the umbrella of the chamber. He added that the campaign is part of the Sharjah Summer Promotions, which falls under the umbrella of “Sharjah Summer Festival” that is organized by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.

Al Jarwan remarked that more than 2000 retail stores in Sharjah will participate in the 2nd edition of the Grand Summer Discounts campaign, which represents an increase of 70% when compared to the previous edition of the campaign. He stated that the increase is due to the massive success of the previous edition and the desire of retailers to take advantage of the lively shopping environment of the campaign that will take place during Eid Al Adha. He noted that the campaign represents an ideal opportunity for both residents and visitors of the emirate to buy their Eid needs and their back to school supplies at the best prices and with the biggest discounts of the year.

Hanaa Hamoud al Suwaidi, Head of the Festival and Exhibitions Department at the SCCI, stated that the participating shopping malls and retail stores have finalized their preparations to launch the biggest promotions yet during the Sharjah Summer Promotions 2018, which continues its activities amidst enthusiasm from both retailers and shoppers. She added that the chamber looks to continue this success by launching the Grand Summer Discounts campaign, which is considered the most prominent economic activity of the summer season.

Sahara Centre will present its visitors with a chance to win valuable prizes that consist of a 2018 Range Rover Velar, a trip for 2 to New York and a trip for 2 to Milan. The centre will also organize a carnival and a children’s show during August 26-30.

Mega Mall will organize a draw on 20 vehicles during the Sharjah Summer Promotions 2018, starting from August 9. The mall will also award a variety of daily prizes during the “Wipe and Win” promotion, and it will organize a carnival and a daily children’s show during the entire month of August.

City Centre Sharjah will present its visitors with a chance to win a grand prize that consists of a school scholarship worth Dh50,000. The centre will also give away laptops as daily prizes during the 31 days, and it will organize competitions for families that test their knowledge. These competitions will be between two families, where the winning team will win valuable prizes.

Zero 6 mall will organize a carnival and a children’s show from July 24 until August 24.
