Persil’s Abaya Shampoo is the ultimate laundry product to care for abayas

UAE, Dubai, 26 August 2018:   Persil is encouraging women who wear abayas to swap their powder detergent to a specially-designed product that will protect the colour, enhance the softness and give a beautiful fragrance – an abaya shampoo.

This year, Persil is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its Persil Abaya Shampoo, which has grown to be one of the brand’s most popular laundry detergents in the region thanks to its ability to maintain and protect abayas deep black colour. With Persil’s 100 year plus heritage, superior German technology and cleaning expertise, customers can be assured that the bespoke abaya shampoo is the complete solution for their abaya cleaning needs.

Until Persil launched their abaya shampoo in 2008, many women were using a powder detergent to clean their abayas – which fades the deep black colour of the material – or even a fabric conditioner, which is not designed to clean but to bring softness to garments.

Want to know the right way to wash your abaya? The team at Persil has put together the following advice:

Avoid washing powder: Using powder detergents is proven to harm the fabric and fade the black colour of the material making it lose its shine and softness. Persil Abaya Shampoo not only focuses on caring for Abaya fabrics but preserves the abayas colour allowing your favorite abayas to remain new wash after wash.

Make your favourite abaya last longer: Abayas are made from delicate material such as satin and crepe and Persil Abaya Shampoo, unlike powder detergents, is manufactured with a special blend focused on treating delicate fabrics with the upmost care. Using a specialist abaya shampoo will save you money as you will get even more use out of your favourite abaya.

Delicately does it: Always use the ‘Delicate’ setting on your washing machine to prevent harming the fabric of the abaya in the wash or hand wash your very precious abayas as washing machines can damage very fine embroidery.

Air dry: Use a coat hanger and dry your abaya inside away from sunlight to help prevent the blackness fading and maintain its radiant colour.

The Persil Abaya Shampoo is available in three fragrances including Asalat Al Oud, Anaqa Musk & Flowers and the Classic scent in a 1L, 2L and 3L size bottle.

Also available in the UAE is Persil 2-in-1 Abaya Shampoo, which contains a touch of softener. By creating a dedicated product for cleaning abayas that includes softener, Persil, unlike competitors and powder detergents, ensures that the black colour is locked in, the material keeps its silky softness and smells beautifully fragrant wash after wash. Persil 2-in-1 Abaya Shampoo is available in two fragrances with a mesmerising scent of rose and a luxurious French perfume giving an indulging freshness to your laundry.
