Dubai, UAE, August 26, 2018:  A joint press conference on the '1% Drive Master United Arab Emirates (UAE) to China”  event and the 'Chinese Travellers Festival' at the Palace Downtown Hotel, the Arabic cultural  lifestyle  hotel  nearby Burj Khalifa, and as part of Emaar Hospitality’s The Address Hotels and Resorts.

 

The organizing committee of the '1% Drive Master UAE to China”, a 31-day journey by 15 Emirati and UAE-based Arab and Chinese automobile aficionados who will travel all the way from Dubai to China from September 23 to October 23, 2018, and the 'China Travellers Festival” which takes place from October 19 - 21 2018 (city to be confirmed) officially announced the two upcoming events.

The event is focused on 'civilization dialogue, cultural exchanges, and people's hearts'. After careful planning and organization, it is mainly composed of outstanding Chinese and overseas Chinese from the UAE, and four countries from the Silk Road (United Arab Emirates, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and China's friendly messengers will depart from Dubai. Start from September 23 to October 23, 2018, passing through 22 cities in the Silk Road (UAE, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan) for 31 days.

1% Drive Master UAE to China is the first tour ever by Chinese and Arab drivers who are residents of the UAE and who will spread the message of friendship to the Silk Road countries Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The team drive all their way from the UAE to China along the New Silk Road, promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.

 

Starting from Dubai, the 15,000 kilometers long tour passes through 22 cities along the New Silk Road (UAE, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China), which will last over 31 days.

 

China Travellers Festival 2018, to be held from October 19 – 21 is the first ever global travelers’ gathering in China. It will organized in co-operation with Emirates Travellers Festival which has been held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The Emirates Travellers Festival has been held annually since 2012. Emirates Travellers Festival took successful place in Milan earlier in 2018. 

 

Mr. Awad Mohammed Sheikh Mujrin, Chairman of Emirates Travellers Festival, said “This will be the first gathering for global travelers in China under the name of the China Travellers Festival. This event is expected to strengthen the cultural and sportive relations between the UAE and China, especially following the historical visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to the UAE in July.”

 

Mr. Atiq Hassan Mubarak of Emirates Motor Sports Federation (EMSF) said “The vision and mission of the 1% Drive Master UAE to China tour is to strengthen UAE-China cultural relations, to underline the UAE’s supporting role of the Belt and Road Initiative, and to foster friendship between our two peoples.” 

 

Mr.  George Elkhazem of the Automobile & Touring Club of the UAE (ATCUAE) said “It is our honour to support in mobilizing the clubs of FIA in the silk road countries for 1% Drive Master UAE to China; and to authorize the 1% Drive Master UAE to China project to promote the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) 3500 lives road safety campaign

 

The team of 1% Drive Master UAE to China will support the FIA’s Road Safety Program in line with the “Save 3500 lives Everyday” campaign, authorized by the Automobile and Sports Club (ASC) of the UAE along its journey.
