Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 6th October 2018:   Dubai Land Department (DLD) announced that the closing ceremony of the first edition of the International Property Awards – Dubai (IPAD) 2018 will be held on 11th October. With 49 companies competing in various categories, 41 of which being local, DLD is expecting a highly competitive first edition.

HE Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, commented: “We are pleased to organise this award in Dubai as a consolidation of our partnership with the International Property Awards. This global programme is widely recognised by all parties in the sector and will inevitably meet the demand of our local companies that always strive for excellence. We are confident that the establishment of a specialised branch of the Awards in Dubai will further develop our real estate sector, especially in light of the prestigious awards that the sector won from reputable international institutions.”

Majida Ali Rashid, CEO of the Real Estate Promotion and Investment Management Sector at DLD, said: “A key objective from our partnership with the International Property Awards is the support of developers that enter international awards to showcase Dubai's unique projects; participating in such reputable events will promote our real estate sector regionally and globally. We would like to thank all the companies that submitted their nominations and we commend our partners and sponsors who will play a major role in ensuring the event’s success.”

IPAD is the result of a collaboration between DLD and the International Property Awards. The awards are open to architects, developers, interior designers, and real estate brokers working in Dubai, with a focus on design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability. It also opened the door for participants to compete at the local, regional, and global levels.

Stuart Shield, President of the International Property Awards, said: “We are delighted to be working in collaboration with Dubai Land Department and to witness the substantial number of submissions for this edition. This is the first edition that is dedicated to Dubai’s real estate sector and we expect it to grow quickly. With such a focus on Dubai and its potent market, we hope to see more accomplished projects, developers, and individuals from the region going forward to win at the International level of the competition.”

The International Property Awards is expected to add a new dimension to the sector and will contribute to the promotion of Dubai’s real estate projects worldwide. The event helps attract investors seeking best investment opportunities, especially as Dubai has a stable market, a guaranteed return on investment, and unique features that distinguish it from other investment destinations.
