IndiGo begins new daily flights to Abu Dhabi International Airport

  • The low-cost Indian carrier to offer two new daily services, connecting AUH with Cochin International Airport and Calicut International Airport
16th October 2018, Abu Dhabi, UAE:   Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) today welcomed the IndiGo’s inaugural flight to and from India, commencing daily flights that connect the UAE capital with Cochin International Airport (COK) and Calicut International Airport (CCJ). 
 
Dubai, UAE, October 16, 2018:  IndiGo is amongst the fastest growing low-cost carriers in the world, bringing a simple philosophy of low-cost fares, on-time flights and a courteous, hassle-free travel experience. With its fleet of 189 Airbus A320 and 12 ATR aircraft, the airline offers over 1200 daily flights and connects 48 domestic destinations and 11 international destinations.
 
The inaugural IndiGo flights from Cochin and Calicut touched down on Monday October 15 and Tuesday October 16 respectively.
 
A daily non-stop flight from Cochin will depart at *13:30 and arrive at 16:30. The IndiGo service to Cochin will leave Abu Dhabi at 04:30, and will arrive at 10:30. IndiGo will fly out of Calicut at 00:40 and will arrive into Abu Dhabi at 03:30. The return IndiGo flight departs at 17:30 and arrives Calicut at 23:30. *All time slots incorporated above are as per the local time of respective geographies.    
 
Bryan Thompson, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, commented: “This new addition expands further the network of the Capital’ airport, to provide our passengers with enhanced connectivity. Abu Dhabi Airport, Chief Commercial Officer, Maarten De Groof, said: “With a total of 14 flights per week, these new connections reflect Abu Dhabi’s status as a global hub for travel and business. India has always been one of our largest and most important areas of operations, and we are pleased to welcome these new daily services and to continue meeting the market’s growing demand.”

IndiGo today operated its inaugural flights from Calicut-Abu Dhabi and Cochin-Abu Dhabi. With these non-stop flights between Abu Dhabi and India, IndiGo operates 63 daily non-stop flights between the Middle East and India.
